A lot less peat. Alot less. I am not a huge peat bomb fan so this was actually pretty pleasant. Has smoke and peat but its not overwhelming.
Has a light fruity thing going on too that I like and its pretty spicy.

My local had it on clearance for 45$ so i picked it up.

Ive been doing some googling and many say older bottles are much different so I am currently on the hunt for an older bottle.

It is a little pricey for a 10 year old. If you can get it for 45 - 60 I dont think it would disappoint, at $70+ I dont know about that.

Horst has a review on it.

thanks for the info! I'll keep an eye out for it. I enjoy the flavor of the peat but I'm definitely not a junky for it like some people.

If you haven't already, check out the irish whiskey Connemara. It's single malt and peated. Not a very strong peat but enough to notice I have gone through most of that bottle very quickly.

    This one correct?

Yea im not a junky for peat either, it has its place no doubt, but I couldnt drink laguv 16 or laphroaig 10 everytime.

Talisker 10 is a gateway drug though... you'll be a peat head before too long.

with my recent liking of Laphroaig 10 and all the talk about the cask strength, i decided to seek out a bottle. One of my local Specs showed it available online...confirmed by phone and going to pick up at lunch today. Excited to try it

If it's Batch 010 you've found the latest and greatest highly-rated bottling.

That's not bad. The Cairdeas I picked up a few weeks ago was right around 100 after tax.

I'm going to try to pick one up tomorrow on my way to/through Austin. If I can't get one I'll definitely let you know.

If I can't snag one it would be awesome if you could get one for me. I would bring you some samples for your troubles in addition to the cost of the bottle. I think I've got tentative plans to pass through DFW on Saturday the 27th and could maybe meet up with you then depending on the part of town you're in. You going to Jambo at all next month? I'll be out there. Even if we don't need to meet up for this we should get together for a drink out there.

There's also a 12 year Connemara that is quite lovely!
