I had the same issue where I am, with the added benefit of dense fog almost every morning. Couldn't see anything and neither can the morons in their cars. For some reason drivers here thing it's ok to drive on both sides of the road until they see another car coming! Drives me crazy. You have idiots on both sides of small country roads over the yellow line on blind corners.

I'll be camping at Richardson Lakes week before Labor day at a remote site. Annual lake trout and salmon trip.

bad drivers all over the place, always gotta be diligent. I'm unsure of our french/somali population, although I'd reckon it would be higher than average. We get a lot of refugees and there were a LOT of quebecois that immigrated here back in the day. I can't wait for it to be warmer so it's a little less frigid at 45mph+ speeds though lol.

Used to be when I'd commute in April or October I'd have to get to work 15-20 minutes early, to give my hands time to warm up and start working correctly again before my shift started

Yes, I'll be fishing way before that, but probably not much for camping. I need the spring to do a lot of work on my boats. But that week before Memorial Day is the first weekend that South Arm Campground opens.

I've been camping all winter in my flipover, I think I've spent at least 12 days out under the stars this winter.

What? Isn't one of them fairly new?

Neither one is nowhere near new, just new to me. One is a '95 and the other is an '04. Both need new water pumps this year and the big boat I need to do the floor. Or more accurately, I want to do the floor. It's not soft but the carpet is hammered. It's gonna be a big job.

    Aha, gotcha. Maintenance...

Well, relatively speaking (compared to mine), your '04 is fresh off the assembly line

I have to diagnose a misfire on mine; I pulled the cover off of it the other day when it was sunny and warm, and it wouldn't idle for sh*t. I did a basic check by unplugging one wire at a time, and it was only getting spark on two cylinders out of 3. But, I had other things to do that day and didn't want to tear it apart for a full checkup. I'm hoping it's just a bad trigger or circuit box and not a stator. (but, Mercury...)

Stator would be unlikely if you are getting spark on the two other cyls but with a Mercury anything is possible. Usually when the stator goes it's working one minute and complete dead the next.

So your motor has a CDI and not points?

Yep. It's an 80's motor. Sometimes I'm not sure which I prefer. CDI is nice because obviously you don't have to worry about corrosion, moisture, adjustments/maintenance etc as much as with points. On the other hand, when something does die, it's a lot harder to diagnose and a lot more expensive to fix.

never bought new wheels (rims) for a vehicle before, but just ordered 4

    rims.jpg

$516 shipped to my door. Hopefully they are a direct swap, anyone know if I will need special lug nuts?

Now I need to find some rubber to wrap around them, the goal is to have them on the truck be the end of summer. What sneakers would you put on them?

You have a japanese cruiser right, yamaha or kawasaki maybe?

I love those rims, they'd be one of the few wheels I would upgrade too. In terms of tires, I really like my DuraTracs. But idk what you use your truck for. If you're on-road only I would look at michelin LTX m/s2 or the LTX a/t2
