Connor explained it. The front locker doesn’t produce any noticeable changes in 2wd. Maybe it might give some sort of driveline vibe from the front shaft spinning, but I certainly don’t notice it over all the other rattling shit. Haha.

Wait, do you have a rear locker? If not, definitely grab one of those first.

It's fine as long as it's not locking the axles together because even though they are not linked to the drivetrain, 2 front wheels rotating simultaneously, especially on the street, is a terrible idea.

Gotcha. Well, when you get to the point where your truck needs more capability, I certainly recommend it. Just have to be aware of the quirks and drive accordingly.

Review of the Harrop? Or have you Brit had enough time to formulate an opinion yet?

Not even wired yet. Not that it's hard to do but didn't have time before LBL and haven't touched my truck since. I bought it, after much research, considering it to be the best locker I could buy. Instant on/off and only thing required is putting another switch in the cab. I'd like to give you an actual real world opinion but for me, as long as it's more reliable than an ARB, I'll consider my decision justified.

The ADD stub shaft spins but it's disconnected from the CV in 2wd so one side will still freewheel

I had ARB lockers in my Tundra. For as expensive as they are, may be the most problematic choice possible. Constant air leaks (internal and external) Mine might have worked properly 20% of the time.

In theory They're cool. In reality they were a pain in the ass

I was responding to comments about the ARB. May have quoted wrong post. But...I'd take an e-locker before ARB after the issues I had with mine.

Best luck I had personally was with Eaton/Detroit lockers. Others say different. Those were in a Ford Bronco I had years ago.

Today I learned that some amazing Aussies are making front e-lockers for Taco's, and now I have a wish list that equals the value of my truck. FML.

No mud flaps, plasti dipped emblems, and rear bumper, Weather tech digital fit, Bed mat from tractor supply. Pioneer 4400BH head unit. B.A.M.F bed rail tie downs. AVS vent visors.
Not just for car/truck. Would be used on odd things that we may have problems with around a house as well, probably need to read 120v.

    Thanks for the help!

I'm open to suggestions on color. I'm worried the anthracite grey would be too close to MGM, but not an exact match. Then it would look funky. But maybe not.

    Get a mechanical locker.
    1. It’s not that noticeable, as long as you don’t drive like a jackass.
    2. It’s not even your daily.

I daily’d a truck with a mechanical locker for like 2 years and loved it. Made rain drifting easy and didnt hurt drivability imo

I'm open to it. I drive like a grandma, so that would probably be fine. Parking lots are probably the worst though

That's how I felt too. I REALLY didn't want to pay for it. But the only 2 options i had were the ARB or Harrop and I've had plenty of real world experience with the ARB and just don't want one. I could've bought one 6 years ago when i did my 4.88 swap and didn't think they were worth the money then. Time hasn't made me any more interested in one. Haha the Harrop seems like a much more reliable option. The unit is sealed in the diff so you just have wire leads sticking out. Touch one wire to negative terminal and one to positive terminal of the battery and its locked. Nothing to leak, nothing to wiggle loose, nothing to snag on, nothing else to buy in conjunction with, no other parts to rely on working, no extra space to take up. As long as you have an operating battery, you have a locker. Real world cost is maybe $100 more than ARB, wiring is infinitely easier making install a fraction of the time and there's one less switch needed in the cab. I couldn't find a downside.

Now i could have terrible luck with it and find it to be a complete piece of shit but on paper, there are no flaws and in the time it's been on the market in Australia, it's been very reliable. I have no bias here. I just like good shit. If it's good, I'll tell you what I think. If I find a flaw in it, I'll gladly tell you what I think.
