Which front camera make/model and where mounted on 2018 Limited

Thanks. I'll probably use this one for a while. If I run across something with a lot higher resolution that's plug and play, I'll probably get it.

 

Keep in mind you'll still be limited by the resolution of the head unit. (Trying to figure out what that is)

I'm sure you guys won't have an issue! If you've never run anything through the firewall, I straightened out a wire hanger then made a small hook at one end, then taped the wires to that. Just poke through the factory boot/grommet where the wiring harness goes in straight back from the corner where the battery is. Once it is through a few inches, pull it from the other side instead of pushing from the engine bay; that way you avoid nicking the insulation of any factory wires.

I never pressed the mode switch on my truck yet, what does it do. I understand once you get this camera system you can switch between backup camera and the new camera you installed, but without me going up what does the mode switch do.

 

I've never found a camera that's comparable to the stock rear one.

 

This setup is unbelievable, it is reasonable priced and super easy to install, too bad they do not make a record mode so if you get in a accident etc. you can record.

 

The mode button cycles through audio inputs (AM,FM,BlueTooth,iHeart,AUX and USB).

After install, it still works that same way, but a double tap will make the forward facing cam appear on screen. You can then hit the down arrow to see the rearview camera. Hitting the mode button once again while the camera is up will make the head unit show whatever it showed before the camera came up.

Anytime. With basically the same cheap camera.

 

As a matter of fact, the top one in the picture is the same one I have. No where near the quality of the rear, including the viewing degree.

 

Huh, I don't know man. How old is your setup? The camera has "upgraded" in the name, like changed the hardware.

I don't think the Car Solutions module would make the picture any better itself but who knows.

Can u post a side by side of yours? Front / rear? I guess I did get mine a few months back.

 

Just placed my order. If anyone installs the third camera , please post it up and how it operates off the same mode switch. I could use a extra camera mounted to keep eyes on my dog. He likes to nibble.
