What kind of power are you looking to make? I vote supercharger regardless, but it might be more cost effective to go LS if you want big #s

Truck is built for off road conditions. Looking for same power that bigger trucks have, since most of my buddies either have fast drift cars or big trucks.

LS might be a good option for you. The supercharger is great, but it will create a good bit of heat, so that isnt the best for offroading.

Before swapping motors, a regear to some 4.88s might serve you well. Truck will feel much torquier/peppier

What would you say is best for off roading conditions no engine mods, engine swap, boost, or other options?

Your not going to get big power from a blower. Turbo it and your motor will be the limit.

With that said I vote turbo LS

What’s the whole point of buying a Toyota (or any non-GM brand)? And then throwing a Chevy engine in the vehicle?

Same goes to people that put Honda engines or SR20DETs in Toyota’s.

People like what the LS has to offer. I'm not aware of any Toyota engine that has as much aftermarket support as an LS. Maybe Toyota should offer a V8 in the Taco :notsure:

You can buy a LS motor at a junkyard for a couple hundred $$$$ then build the motor to suit your needs . Also a LS can support up to 1500hp with ease

I understand that part, but why not just buy a GM vehicle.

I recently saw Datsun 240z with an LS motor, and it literally made me sick. There are so many great Nissan engines. Why not use a Nissan engine?

As mentioned the aftermarket support is outstanding and it doesn't take much $$ to make big time hp on the LS platform . There are so many LS motors in Junkyards and for cheap $$ it makes it easy to build compared to finding a serviceable Gen 1 SBC

I've seen many junkyard LS motors with a quick refresh inexpensive rebuild making well North of 1200hp an holding up to that abuse without an issue
