    We once considered (had contract in hand) a move to northern N.M... Aztec to be exact, because real estate was affordable, a lot of great outdoor / offroad opportunities, but mostly because of it's close proximity to Durango CO., one of our true loves. What area of N.M. do you live? Lots of coolness in that state. But I'm sure as with any other place it has it's um...challenges.

    We've driven through this area many times on the way to Southwestern Colorado. We have always felt it has a wonderful charm to it. Not so crazy about here in North Texas, but it's better than the panhandle. (no offense) We are right on the doorstep of the beautiful Hill Country to our south. Love it down there!
    Ruidoso is on my bucket list to check out before I check out!
