I got an email saying they can't verify fitment to the truck... Does anyone know of a case where it actually doesn't? I want to confirm this before they actually send it out.

Auto doesn’t fit manual and manual doesn’t fit auto. Other than that it if you chose the correct transmission it should fit any 3rd gen.

Is there a way to make this work in addition to the stock button still working? Could you make y cable that could allow both factory switch and this shifter switch to work together? @mesojdm

Just curious why would you want to retain the original button. I see this as freeing up that location for another option.

No Problem. Glad I could help. I previously had a Genie with the large remotes so I assumed they were all 12v, I now have the Chamberlain which uses the button battery. The converter works well though. I got it on Amazon. And you are correct, it is 3v. I just checked my Amazon order.

I want to keep it stock as possible on the inside. And don’t like aftermarket switches and don’t need anymore switch locations. No matter how nice they are they don’t match OEM quality exactly. Also I think it would be badass to be able to turn it on or off via the shifter and/or the button.

I would think a y harness could be made easy enough, it’s just of matter if they can work together.

Yes, same boat and OCD, don't need more buttons and wanted the stock one to work. So I ordered two of the kits from MESO and you will need two males and one female end. Works just fine.

I can get some pics this weekend because I would need to take the dash apart again, but I purchased two of MESO's connector kits (https://mesocustoms.com/collections/all/products/toyota-ect-connectors) and then hooked the wires together so it was like a "T" with two male ends and 1 female end. Then wrapped it in tape so even the pics wont be so good. But if you look at the link or on MESO's website you will see he sells just the connectors and you will need 2 in order to get two male ends.

Welcome to TW and also sometimes purgatory. MESO is a unique modder who makes all kinds of things for our Tacomas, 4-Runners, and customs stuff. His website is mesocustoms.com. He does not do backorders, lists, but frequently gets advice from other people who to run a business that is incredibly successful with a good reputation. I say that because I have only been a member here on TW for a year and it is very clear why he does that and also even his current system seems to irritate some people (not me, have almost every mod made), although it is fair. You frequently scan these pages and he will talk about the process of making things and most of the time he announces a release date and you need to be ready because his stuff sells out fast. Go to his website now and you will see a release tomorrow on turn signals that may only last 10-15 minutes and that is because this is the 4th or 5th release of these.

You don’t need to undo your dash. I think I get it. Sounds like I could even skip the connectors and just splice them too. I know the connectors would be nice plug n play but wouldn’t expect to undo this...
