    Dang, I hope that dealership in Butte doesn't do this. If they want $150 in shipping then I'm just going to cancel. The wheels are sick, but it's not like I need them.

    Ah, I get it. You're jealous of someone maybe getting a better deal than you. :D

    Because first of all, nobody's asking for your pity. We don't care if you do or don't feel bad for anyone who gets their order cancelled or has a shipping charge added or increased. Second, it's not about "skimping" on shipping. I've stated multiple times that I'd be glad to pay the orignal $47 that was quoted for shipping -- but according to others, that's not what the dealerships are doing. They're adding 3-4 times the pre-promo-code shipping cost to have it shipped -- essentially negating the whole 40% discount (or a lot of it). Third, when I called, they gladly cancelled my order and were happy to re-process with the shipping promo code. Nobody had any qualms with it. Just like when you hand a coupon to a cashier (I assume people still do that).

    Nobody's trying to pull one over on Toyota or do anything shady. We're using a pre-exisitng promo code in conjunction with a sale that Toyota is putting on. All of it went through just fine for everyone on the websites for ordering. This is simply a last-ditch effort by the dealerships to tack on crazy freight charges and really water down the 40% deal.

    I think EVERYONE that gets the call should file a complaint with Toyota. At best, it's a very, very, very big lack of planning/foresight that's wasted a lot of people's time and at worst, it's playing games with customers -- getting them to buy into some great deal just to screw around at the very end of it.

    Either way that's a huge black mark for Toyota's customer service and they need to hear about it.

    picking between the 17" SEMA's and 16" TRD's is by far the hardest choice I've had to make all year... decisions, decisions :frusty::facepalm:

    Right -- I do see that. Again, that's just a very last opportunity for the dealership to charge whatever TF they want. Why would they quote me $47.90 for shipping (after me giving them my zip code)? Where'd that number come from? If they're gonna call and add $159 (er whatever) to that, why quote the shipping at all? Smells like bait and switch. I mean, disregard the promo code stuff entirely... it's still kinda stupid to just put some arbitrary shipping number on there, get your mailing and credit card info, and then call and say "oh yeah, shipping's actually gonna be 3x what we said it would be"

    Still failing to see how this is the consumers fault...

    I got a 1st email this morning confirming the order.

    Now I got a 2nd email saying it's been received and being processed. Am I in the clear?

    Those who got your orders canceled or asked to pay more for shipping, did this happen after you got your 2nd email?
