    I may or may not be doing some of the official trail leading, not sure yet, but if not, then I may try and plan a noob run for TW people or something. Would be a simple but try and explore as much as possible as quick as possible on the easier trails type of run.

    Good idea. It'll be my first time at Barnwell, and my 7th or 8th time off-roading. I've done level 4 trails at Hidden Falls, but I would like some hands-on training on recovery techniques.

    Will just have to see closer to Jambo on the plans.

    I am all about safety, but me teaching and training recovery stuff is not my forte yet. I am pretty sure they will have a recovery class at Jambo as they have in the past that is taught by very talented people.

    I bet I can convince @ChadsPride to hop in the passenger seat even lol

    On another note, I ordered the

    Midland MXT275 on Amazon, it comes with everything. Do I need to do any tuning like with a CB?

    If it comes with a mag mount, and you place it in the center of the roof, the SWR should be O.K. I'll bring a VHF/UHF SWR meter to Jambo along with my HF antenna tuner to help folks check their setups.

    It's a GMRS radio. I have an SWR meter currently. Just wondering if it needs to be checked with a GMRS radio.

    Antennas with GMRS radios are usually pre-tuned for them. With the power levels they run placement of a mount is important, but SWR should be fairly good. Probably don't need to check it, except for piece of mind.

    No, it's plug and play.

    Center of your roof is "ideal", but throw it (almost) anywhere on your truck and you'll be able to talk to most of the park.
