    Hey guys!

I am about to finish up the design/prototyping process for these custom roof racks and wanted to get a post up to get some interest and feedback.

    Standard version

I will have the final version mounted to my truck in a few days and then I can torture test it and it'll be ready for order.

I've designed these from scratch to be as cheap as possible, while still being some of the strongest options on the market and they should last the life of your truck. I've also got an awesome series of simple, bolt on accessories that will be available soon. The awesome thing about these racks is they're customization, all the rails can be moved to suit you, or you can add extra rails! You get a set of 6 specially designed mounts that fit into the roof rack channel perfectly which not only allows for a better mount, but helps stop dirt/mud/water from getting stuck in the area, they're also crazy strong and made from a solid carbon fiber infused polycarbonate which is extremely durable. Most racks use a simple metal bracket at a right angle, or something similar to hold it in place, ours are much tougher than that AND fit 100% in the stock mounting points.

Every order will also come with a set (20) of T-nuts to bolt down literally anything you want to it.

    High strength mounting

First run of the racks will be limited to 15 orders at first, and cost $480usd plus $60 shipping via UPS within the lower 48. Shipping anywhere else is fine, but costs may go up. Shipping will take 3-5 weeks after the buy has closed (sorry I know, but I'm one guy. I'll try to do it faster but thats realistic. )

First 15 orders will also get a set of bed corner brackets (normally $30)
All orders will come with everything needed for install, including all brackets, high strength bolts and even sealant and a cushion griped hex key.
Free corner bracket for the first 15 orders (will be black, pair, light not included)

    Pricing-

Standard rack with 6 cross bars - $480
Premium rack with 7 cross bars, BLACK anodized - $590
"Add a bar" extra cross bar - $40
Wind panel with cutout for 22 inch light bar - $60 (Changed to $80)
Wind panel with no cutout - $60 (changed to $70)
    Side Panel (Pair) - $90
Swingout 8ft Awning (COMING SOON) $150
Popout shower/privacy tent (COMING SOON) $125

Side panels and no cutout wind panel

The buy will open in about a week once I am finished testing and happy with the results. Currently looking for anyone who is interested to leave a comment or feedback! Once I have finished testing I will upload detailed photos.

Once the buy is open, I will be taking $50 deposits and adding your name to the list so I know you're serious. After 2 weeks or the 15 spots are taken, I will begin production and taking full orders (minus the $50) regardless of how many orders are made.

If I get more than the 25 first spots in the first 2 weeks everyone gets $30 off their order!

    OPEN OPEN OPEN!

The buy is now open. I have sent a PM to everyone who has already expressed interested in buying.

This is how everything is going to work.

    - You PM me (or reply to my PM) that you would like to reserve a spot to buy the rack. Please include what version (standard or black) and if you want a wind panel (with or without cutout, and what size cutout) and if you want side panels.

Your message should look something like this ----
"Hey, I would like a standard rack with side panels. Thanks."

    - After this you will receive a link to a $50 deposit, please include your real name and email, as well as your username on here. Real name is for my use only and will not be shared here or anywhere.
This deposit is non refundable, and 100% locks you into the buy. If you change your mind, that is fine but you lose your spot and your deposit.

    - Once I have your $50 deposit, I will add your name to the list below and you will get another email on FRIDAY MAY 12TH in which you will have a proper invoice for the rest of your order total minus the $50 obviously, and minus $30 if we sell over 25 units.

    - Once you have paid the rest of your order, you will be marked as paid on this list and in 3-5 weeks we will be able to start shipping final products!!

Please note, if we sell over 30-40 total, shipping may be delayed by a week or two, but it will come. I am one guy, not a big company, hope you understand!

@kickasssloth how much do you expect this weigh? Assuming standard version no panels.

    Interested

Approx 13kg / 28 pounds for the standard with no panels. Another one of the benefits is the comparatively low weight! :)

Nice. Seems like a great alternative to Prinsu.

Thanks, yeah! I had wanted one of those a while ago but didn't like the price or a few of the design choices so decided to design my own.

I have other things to do first before I can splurge on a roof rack, but this design looks great! Gonna watch this thread and keep your product in mind when I'm in the market

I'm impressed. I think the price/quality ratio is quite reasonable.

Just curious... would any of the cross bars be removable or adjustable in position? Not a make-or-break feature, but would be convenient =]

Oh absolutely, they can all be moved freely back and forward. You could have them all at the front/back, bunch them up in pairs, or even take them out and run the rack with just the 4 outer rails!

I see that in the description now, sorry! But yea, that's an awesome feature to have... this is definitely at the top of my Roof Rack list.

    So some quick updates!

First off, thanks to everyone for their levels of interest! I'd thought only 1-3 people would honestly want this, so to see that it is potentially a lot more is really encouraging! Life can be tough as a "one man band" so when people are on board with your ideas it means a lot, thanks!

Secondly, Here are some small updates.
    - After testing the original designed mounts, we've found that each mount will hold at least 350lb of load without any issues, and spread across the rack you could easily load up more than the truck would ever want on the roof anyway, so strength is awesome.
    - We decided to modify the mounts into a two part design, this allows them to be mounted and removed easily, but also improves the installation experience by only having a single bolt LENGTH per bolt SIZE, meaning if it fits, its the right one. No more confusion of "is this the right bolt?"
    - The two part design is actually also stronger than the original design, and allows the entire rack to be removed in 5 minutes in one piece.
    - They're slightly more expensive to make, but I'm eating that cost as I feel they are just a better product, simple.

I've included a couple renders of the new mounts. Basically you'll have the lower part which bolts to the roof, again in the factory mounting, and then the upper which is connected to the rack. These then bolt together in a locking design meaning that even if bolts came lose, broke, or whatever else (even though they won't, locknuts will be provided and we're using the highest grade bolts available) the mount won't actually come lose, the rack effectively locks its self in place.

As for when it will be available, again, I'd like to have the final versions finished and all production parts fully tested before I take money, so it'll probably be 1-2 weeks from now before you can place orders, but I AM trying to get it ready asap.
Orders will be taking through my site, BTW.

Any other questions, I'd be happy to take! And don't forget to tell everyone about this, remember, more than 25 orders in the first 2 week buy and EVERYONE gets $30 off their total!
