Toyota NEEDS to hire you as part of the design team!! I mean these guys make big bucks and you are hitting em out of the park with these mods, killing it! Love the header by the way, it looks cool!

@mesojdm you should make some Meso Customs window decals, I’d be all in for one. Just an idea, if not already thought of .

So I installed my stage 2 today. One of my favorite mods. I used the VLED HVR 6 led bulbs that are 280 lumen per bulb. I bought these separately. When I hit the brakes, they are blinding. I mean damn! I’m wondering if I should change the bulbs to something different.

I am at VLEDS considering these now. Last evening I was only able to acquire the stage 2 harness.

My cart at VLEDS has those. I'm sold now. Thank you @El Taco Blanco

Went pretty easy. I used a step bit, but even holding upside down and going very slow, there were still some shavings that got in there. I think that static electricity causes some to stay in there. I would recommend using the ultra sonic knife.

Damn, I was thinking of using the step bit. Compressed wouldn’t help?

Not sure how easy it would be with the sonic knife…his video makes it look stupid simple but

So stage 2 guys- any tips or tricks for install? I have read through all pages/watched the install video but wondering if anyone has any extra takeaways. I think I am going to go with the hot xacto knife method but any extra insight is appreciated.

Yea. Take your time. Keep the knife hot and pull outwards. Keep the backside down so no melted pieces fall in .
I used a soldering iron since it stays hot and was easier .
Do small section at a time. ** Do not use sandpaper**. If you want to file the melted pieces , do it upside down .
The adapter is not metal so don't force it in . Cut enough but its snug. When using epoxy, you're not sealing it. Its to hold the adapter in place. After it dries go over it with silicone. Put a couple dabs of epoxy on adapter and turn tail light up so it doesn't ooze into the lens. In case you cut too much, put a piece of tape over it to keep in place.
I took about 15 min per lens.

Damn a hot knife seems like it would be harder, more time consuming and leave a rough/jagged edge.

Unless the one I used was just not hot enough and the blade was dull (which it was). If it’s supposed to basically feel like cutting butter then never mind my comment lol

I forgot the “air” in my post but you got it, lol. What size step bit did you use? Is the hole bigger than 3/4”

The adapter flange should measure right at 1”. Get some calipers on it to check, just to make sure.

I only used epoxy on my adaptors. But I did get a little condensation in one :annoyed: But that was my fault because I new I didn’t put enough. I thought it might be a little hard to put silicone all the way around after since the adaptor is right next to the breather and it might get a little messy. I just removed the switchback and added more epoxy from the inside so I know it’s completely sealed. Now everything is gravy.
