    Update Part 2!

Got the new rails installed and put on 4 clamps on each side. I added the velco strips...lets just say this thing is ROCK SOLID NOW!

I grabbed onto both rails and shook very hard and the rails/topper is on and it is stout. I would recommend to anyone getting these to spend the extra $24.00 and get 4 extra clamps.

Also my setup for camping is now completed and love the topper. Below is a before and after of the install of the platform.

I used (3) 2x6 and ply wood. Home depot has indoor outdoor carpet at a fair price. I had the plywood cut so I can pop out the thinner piece and take the whole platform out if needed under 5 minutes.

Looks good!! Is the platform for sleeping? Maybe put some supports in the middle to keep it from bowing?

I will be adding supports when the weather is warm for sure. Going to make a drawer system.

Well my Bestop arrived today..I think its been sitting in the original box for 10 years as its beyond a tight fit and I couldn't fully zip up.some of the zippers and get 1 back corner to fit on the bracket. I will give it a week or to hopefully stretch and if it doesn't I will send it back but I do like the way it looks on the taco20190410_170857.jpg

Let it get some sun! Then revisit the fit. All will be good.

gotta love the softopper. you can't get this versatility in any other setup. took us 30 seconds to fold it and have full access to the bed.

How old is your topper? Those rails look totally different than mine. It looks like your snaps are adjustable, and its more of a C/Lshape than square tubing.

How's the velcro working on top of the tailgate?

Velcro is ok. I have to change it out every fall since it wears out in the summer. Most of the time I roll with my softopper window open so I can just throw stuff in easily. Unless it's expensive stuff. My softopper is about 3 years old now. Still going strong. Have it deployed about 99% of the time in sunny southern California

UPDATE let the Bestop sit in the sun for a few hours and that did the trick. Stretched out and everything zips up fine. Some of the seams need seam sealing other than that OK
