It just rubs on the plastic mud flap. No need for the cmc

 

I don’t have stock UCAs now. But I did when I first put them on and they cleared fine. If I took my mudflaps off I’m pretty sure i wouldn’t rub.

 

Anybody have any pics of 2016-19 trd sport with bilstein 5100’s in the front to level, stock suspension in rear and 275/70/17 tires? Thanks for any pics

 

Just got this setup for my Taco and sadly, it does rub. Not on normal, flat turns or anything, but whenever there is some sort of small dip involved it smacks against the wheel well. Definitely need a small lift/leveling kit

 

It’s not a TRD sport but this is that setup with the front set at 1.75”. Just imagine it with a hood scoop.

 

Where did you find Wildpeaks in that size? I could only find them in 265 or 285.

 

Finally got my wheels, tires, and lift done. Falcon lift 2.25" (unverified) with 275/70/17 KO2's. Wheels are Method Roost 17x8.5, 0 Offset.

As far as drive-ability goes, I personally feel like the wacky transmission in these trucks is better suited to a slightly larger tire. It downshifts more appropriately, and I don't feel like I have noticed a change in usable acceleration. In fact, I would say I was worried for nothing. Zero rubbing so far, aligned fine, I like the look, and would do it again in a heartbeat. I have to drive the truck offroad a little before I can comment on the Falcon Suspension, and everything here is newly covered in snow again, so it's going to be weeks until I get off the asphalt.

I just bought ray10s in 17x8.5 -10bs
I was planning on going 255/80r17s but from what I now understand with the rays offset I will need a CMC which I dont want to do.

Will 275/70r17s fit without a CMC stock?
What about after my lift?

 

Yeah it should fit with 2”+ lift no CMC but you’ll have to do minor trimming to the plastic. I’m running the same rims. My only recommendation is try to go C load if it’s your daily.

 

Looking good. Did you get the tow/haul Falcon shocks? Also did you add the 1.5" block if it came with your kit? Really digging the height.

 

Thanks! Yes, I got the full kit with the lift. If I remember correctly the only option with the 1.25" lift is the tow/haul rears. I'm happy with the lift. It would look fine a little shorter, but I don't think it's too tall

 

I don't know if this video has been posted in this thread - I've been through it a couple of times, so my fingers are crossed this is new. It's crazy how little difference there is between the 275 and the 285. If you look at them side-by-side there's an obvious difference, but the actual measurements are pretty close, so I think I would have a hard time judging whether a tire on a truck is a 275 or a 285 if I had nothing to compare it to. I'm very happy with my 275's. No rubbing, no cutting, no aftermarket UCA's, and they drive great.

So this is what 275/70/17 looks like compared to Stock wheels? Very good photo man to let folks like us see the difference.

 

Black Method NV 305 wheels in 17"

 

275/70/17 KO2's on SCS Ray 10's. OME Medium lift w/stock UCA. No rubbing, no CMC. Best tire size for these trucks IMO.

I have the 4Runner Pro Wheels and do no need spacers. They have a 4mm offset. I'm running Bilstein 6112 in the front and 5160 in rear for about 2.5" lift

 

So is the consensus that these tires don’t rub a stock truck at all with a reasonable offset wheel (not huge poke)?

Are they the unicorn “biggest tire you can fit without rubbing”?

 

I'd agree. I was able to run this size for a few weeks on my stock suspension before my lift.

 

Is the medium lift kit 2" both front and rear? I think I will be using this kit for mine as well. How's the ride compared to stock?
