Yeah, that's why I changed my contribution allocations. Figured since the international market did so poorly last year, might be a good idea to start putting some into it.

Closing out some boring JNJ this morning. Thinking about using those funds to go in for some more HEAR or NIO

I just threw 40 buck at PLUG lol. Nothing crazy but I like the idea of having a small percentage of my stuff in high risk stocks just in case.

But you need 35% gain to pay for a $7 commission on purchase and sale

Do you guys pay for trades? There are plenty of brokerage firms that have free trades.

I have Vangard and Ameritrade and pay at both. How would a brokerage with free trades make money?

I use Merrill Edge. If you have $50k you get 30 free trades per month, and if you have $100k you get 100 free trades per month. I think they take advantage of your balance to justify the free trades. I would assume they're lending out your money or borrowing shares that you don't even know about.

I wish Vanguard did that. I get 25 discounted trades a year, and the discounted price is $7. So far I don't mind, the bulk of my money is in Vanguard funds which I love.

You can buy Vanguard funds at Merrill Edge. I would assume they're all available. It really adds up paying for trades. I don't "trade" but I buy a lot. When I get paid, dividend deposits, etc.

Ah, I can buy Vanguard funds for free and that's mostly what I care about. I also buy a lot since I also put money up there every month and the div re-investments, etc.

Right now I’m using Robinhood to do my short term trading so there’s no direct fees.

i pay $4.95 with Fidelity per trade, i was thinking of trying Robinhood but Fidelity has all my stuff in it- (401k, T-IRA, R-IRA, Stock purchase program, and of course my stocks) and its all linked already to my bank, it would be nice if they offered some free trades if you have over $50k

If your paying fees i would suggest only doing larger transactions, i think the smallest one i have done recently was a little over $5000, but usually move around $10k-$20k per trade so the $4.95 does not seem like much

Was hoping this would be mentioned. I downloaded Robinhood months ago but haven't linked my bank account yet.

I really want to buy Amazon but I have a hard time spending that much on a stock without dividends. But it seems to always be going UP!

Did not know they did not pay a dividend and Yeah that price tag... what’s the percentage compared to something else you own been looking at?

I bought Ford in the low 8’s. It’s up 11% since I bought it in 3 months and pays a dividend.

Amazon has been very very good to me over the years. They print money.
