Tried briefly looking didn’t find anything. Anyone have a write up on installing an air horn to the current horn? Or maybe with a switch to go back and forth between air horn and regular horn?

If I needed to explain myself I would have in the original post. Everyone has different taste and ideas, just because it’s not for you doesn’t mean it’s bad. But thanks for your help in finding the info I’m looking for! Great helper

I have a great compromise. I restore old American Land Yacht horns out of Cadillacs, Buicks, and Oldsmobiles and sell them as universal kits.

Here’s how my eight horn package sounds like:

My apologies for the rude response. I live near a big city where people drive like ass holes and can’t hear you honking. I’m tired of people driving like crap causing others to possibly have an accident. So nothing like a loud horn to scare the shit out of them. It’s not an all the time horn which is why I like the idea of being able to go back and forth between regular and air horn.

I have customers who have the four horn set on their motorcycle. You can put them on anything you want.

Planning on putting a set on our Tesla pretty soon.

In the late 60’s I had installed a Fiamm dual trumpet air horn and compressor on my P1800S Volvo. For whatever reason I ended up with my wife and Mother-in-law in the car as we drove through a slum area of Newark, NJ. I came up to a red traffic light; there were 2 natives sitting on a stoop to my right. When they saw the occupants of my Volvo, one grabbed a trash can and dragged it towards us. As he raised the trash can to empty the contents on my car, I hit the air horn button. The guy, stunned, dropped the can and jumped back; while I proceeded through the red light.

That one instance was worth installing the air horn. I had the same model air horn on another vehicle, although I didn’t have a need to protect myself with it. However, when hunting with others in a Maine, it came in handy as it had a unique, loud sound which the other hunters could hear and find their way out of the deep woods to where I was parked. I have toyed with the idea of installing one on my Tacoma but since I don’t travel through slums, and transitioned from deer hunting to bird hunting, I don’t see a pressing need. (They are neat though!) Below is one of my bird dogs in the off-season.

It is a NH woodchuck who made the mistake of allowing my Weimaraner to “invade his personal space”.
