    I need to start working on my bachelors degree and almost none of my credits from my associates will transfer, how do I narrow down my major?

    I could go for engineering, psychology, Comp Science, IT, or pretty much anything.

    You guys are terrible at this.

    I’m considering selling my taco and buying a gas F250. I rented one with the 6.2 and loved it. Gets about the same mpg my taco does.

    2020 models are getting a big block again with a 10 speed transmission.

    I'd say start with what are you most interested in and what kind of job would you want after the fact. All of those are pretty different

    For example I had a friend start as mech engr with me switch to electrical and then ended up graduating as with a CS degree as he found out what they did. Could've been avoided maybe had he looked into it more

    Do you have anything youd even remotely need a f250 for? I wouldnt go into debt just to get a bigger truck that's not needed.

    That’s the thing, the career I’ve chosen doesn’t really benefit from a degree, the reasons I want to get my bachelors is to go into the reserves as an officer vs enlisted and because I wouldn’t mind having a second degree.
    I’m looking at engineering because I enjoy designing and building things but I doubt I would use the degree for a job.
    I know very little about IT/comp science as a degree, I just know I enjoy messing around with computers and home networking.

    Pricing in a gas model is similar to a half ton, and get more towing capacity and room. I don’t think it’s a bad thing to have too much truck vs not enough.

    I priced out XL base models for both online with similar options, the 150 with the 3.5 eco boost, and the 250 with the 6.2L. Within $1k of each other.

    I think the gas models are better for minor towing/DD. I’m not hard towing constantly. It’s a $9k upgrade for the diesel. $9k buys a lot of gas. The maintenance cost of a diesel is more(3 gallons of oil for changes, fuel filters every 15k), repair cost is much more(injectors alone cost $2-3k), fuel costs more. And the new diesels get garbage mpg until they’re deleted and tuned. Which voids the warranty. I haven’t found near the complaints on the 6.2 as the 6.7 Powerstroke. It seems to be a very reliable engine.

    The 6.2 has 385hp and 430 lb ft of torque. The one I rented had a 0-60 of like 7 seconds. It is no slouch and it tows up to 15k lbs. And it got like 14mpg in the city.

    My Tacoma now gets 14mpg. The brakes suck, it leaks water into the cab, and it tows my boat awful.

    And 2020 is getting the new big block V8, which has my interest. I don’t drive a ton because I have a take home patrol SUV, so my fuel costs are not that bad.

    The 7.3 is gonna be a tough motor. Iron block, single cam can't wait. The diesel will get better gas mileage, easier to upgrade and just makes more sense to me. If you're not getting a diesel I'd just get an F150 with the 5.0 at that point. Strong, fast...unbelievably fast, same cab as the 250 so you don't lose any room really.

    3.5 Ecoboost>5.0
    Empty economy is better, torque curve is better, the 3.5 is quieter in cab, after jumping between a ‘15 f150 with the 5.0 and a ‘15 expedition EL with the 3.5 ecoboost I’ll take the 3.5 all day.

    From everything I’ve seen the gas mileage between the 5.0 and 3.5 isn’t really that different. The 5.0s get good mpg. But, they’re N/A and make their power in the mid-high range. A 3.5 makes peak torque way low, and it has more of it. It can make the same power in much lower gears where the 5.0 has to wind out for the same power. Also, people at elevation are at an advantage with the boosted 3.5 over the 5.0.

    I drove the same 52 mile loop 5 days/week with both the Expedition and the f150, same driving speeds and no major difference in traffic.
    According to the computers in each vehicle, I averaged 20.1 in the Expedition and 17.6 in the f150.

    The biggest difference I noticed other than fuel economy is noise, because the EB makes its torque almost immediately you don’t typically get over 2500 RPM whereas the 5.0 is up around 3500 to get moving, much noisier.
