Trailer hitch just must be a fashion statement...

Most towns have at least one U-Haul. $28 a day here in southeastern Illinois. They have some dandy open trailers with plenty of tie-off points on them.

Uhm, yeah. It absolutely amazes me that people just seem to love doing things the hardest way they can come up with.

Ah yes, TW...a place to openly debate how one goes about shoveling dirt out of a pickup bed.

Was out of town on business, wasn't worth renting a trailer when I could just stack those puppies up!

I thought I'd get two yards of stone dust. Bought one instead. Then the loader dropped it in the bed, much behind the axle to avoid my folded bed cover. It drove like a 9.9hp aluminum boat plowing water. Hazard lights on and under 50 kph all the way home (about 5 kms). It didn't hit the bump stops, but it sure got squirrely if I went too fast. Only later did I realize that a yard of stone dust weighs 2700 lbs! It gets in all the nooks and crannies.

You do realize a yard of stone like that runs about 3,000# At a half yard your over the max.

Yup. That realization came after-the-fact though. 1/2 yard is max if I ever do it again.
