good riding places in san diego

Does anyone know of any good places to ride dirt bikes and quads in san diego???? I just got my bikes fixed and since I have the day off tomorrow I want to go and test them out. Preferrably not a track.

 

C'MON MANNY !!! You KNOW you can go to PV or CC, THERE ARE A TON of trails for bikes at Corral canyon. All the bike trails criss cross the trails we wheel on, many miles Manny !! (say that 3 times real fast !)

Hey doug! First off thanks for being the ONLY one on here to respond wish me a happy bday!

A couple years back we went to an area near pine valley that had a big open area to ride in... It had a wash and some narrow trails that were for bikes only.. But we dodnt remember where it was... Does it ring any bells??

Ocotillo Wells isnt too far and that place is a giant playground for bikes and quads...

And that place with the wash and trails you mentioned might be McCaines valley?? I used to ride there and its pretty cool.

Besides those Pine Valley and Corral Canyon are always option. Pine Valley is wayyy chewed up and rutted out right now though and I beleive corral canyon is pretty beat too.

Actually I'm just a shut-in & desperate for human communication j/k

I mean I saw the thread about your party brotha & B-Day so ya get a "shout out" From oL' cRaZy........ but yeah I know what yer sayin' haha. At one time the Pine Valley trails went all the way to Lake Morena, so at one time PV & CC were one of the same its the big open area you describe, serious go to CC dude, there are SO MANY bike trails its nutz, probably 50 miles in all , I take it back theres like a little over 60 miles & you'll see a lot better scenery than you can from a truck, just go you won't be dissapointed .....

 

Ive ridden from PV to CC through some back trails and with help from a gps. It is stil possible but youd have to know where the trails are. Google earth may help that how I find all kinds of trials people dont know about

 

Well the reason I wanted a big open area is because I'm taking my girlfriend with me but she doesn't really know how to ride so I don't want to go on hard trails tomorrow.. But I definitely want to try cc some other day

Id go check out McCains valley. Big open wash to learn in with some easy-hard trails surrounding.

are these directions accurate????

• From Interstate 8, take the Boulevard exit.
• Proceed south to the stop sign at Old Highway 80.
• Turn east (left) on Old Highway 80.
• At approximately two miles, turn north (left) on McCain Valley Road.
• Continue on McCain Valley Road for approximately four miles.

Exit Buckman springs road
Right on Buckman-stay straight until you reach Corral canyon OHV sign, make right at the sign
The road leads to 4 corners where you can pick and choose your trails. All of them are rated for difficulty. Check out the fire look out too!
