Take your time doing the chop, measure 3 times and cut once. If your going to weld a replacement metal tab back on, disconnect the battery, better yet, remove the PCM from the truck. Bevel all metal edges before laying a bead, ground the welder as close to the weld area as practical. After welding use a good quality epoxy primer and black chassis paint to prevent rust. For added protection coat the entire area, blend in, with a quality rustproofing layer of smootz!! Overkill ? Yes, but worth it not to have any issues during or after the modification. This is what I do anyway with the disconnected battery

 

With the PCM disconnected or better, removed from the vehicle before any welding, this totally eliminates any chance of a voltage spike from frying your PCM. Seen many vehicles after frame or body welding that would not start due to a faulty fried PCM.

Headed to work in a few to remove the ratty old carpet in the Tacoma and clean the floor. Have a new carpet to put in.
I may also sound deaden the roof/back wall and remove the stock flares, depending on how much time then carpet takes.
I also have some small parts to install which won't take long at all.

Around here that disc golf would be pick up sticks & throw on brush pile.
The rock climbing is called rock stacking as the wall always needs attention in the spring.

We won last night! Smoked em 7-2. That was the team that won the playoffs last season. Felt good to lay a beating on them.

Fucking pissed... Shitty way to start the weekend.

Boss asks me to do something, as well as her boss. So I get on the laptop to do that, to then see a bullshit email from a sales person throwing shade. And to add insult to injury, he adds at the end "I would love to say more but I won't". Who the fuck do you think you are?? Not my fault your stupid ass, and your stupid ass assistant don't know how to do your job. So I respond back, CC my supervisor, and proceed to ask him to do say more because I would like to know, and explain to him that NO, his assistant didn't do what he is claiming she did, asked for that email that he is claiming she sent, and told him that if he has a problem he can speak to my supervisor and I will address it with her.

Then I sent my supervisor a separate email, attached another email from this stupid ass salesperson to show that this is the 2nd time in as many days that he tries to get "cute" with me, and tell her how I feel about this, how I feel about the entire job/situation with people constantly giving me shit for trying to do my job, complaining about me behind my back, and that I'll gladly put in my two week's notice.

Fucking done and fed up with this bullshit and the people I have to deal with on a daily basis.

 

Sounds like a stressful job.
