There's probably a better name than t-slot rings, but I'm talking about the four gizmos that go in the bed rail slots, to attach rope/cord to.

Without a tonneau, it's too easy to steal these things, and you never know when you'll need them so has to be stored in the truck cab. I first put them in the driver's side underseat compartment, but they rattled too much. So I wrapped them all in small terry towels with rubberbands around them. That's about the best I could come up with. How about you?

I always keep them in the rails. Never had any stolen.

A year in, no problems with where they came from the factory.

I store them in the bed rails. I've never taken them off. Been there for almost 4 years.

I think they're in the bed storage. Never used them on my 2nd gen in 11 years.

Rails as well, were in my 2nd gen for 12 years no issues. I like to think Taco owners wouldnt steal from others but I know thats pretty small minded thinking.

Kept mine on the bed rails for 6 months...stolen!
JK! Just figured since everyone is saying the amount of years and never stolen.

I’ve had mine on there and they have been stolen for several months now...I would say though that if you are worried maybe just lock the tailgate? I am pretty sure you cannot remove them with the tailgate closed??

You can install or remove them from the middle of the rail in a matter of seconds. And since it's a standard size slot (I had T-nuts from woodworking accessories that fit the track), it's usable in things other than a tacoma. Anyway, thanks for the replies, and I guess I'll stick with the current underseat storage. Or get a tonneau one of these days.

Never heard of them being stolen. Mine have always been left in the slots for the last 14 years and never had one stolen.

I kept the plastic bag they came in and after use I put them back in the pocket behind the driver seat.
