TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

Let’s see how my stock premium tune does with a supercharger and essentially a MAF cal trying to dial in the fuel with 20% larger injectors.

It’s how I imagine things will go. I do believe the original TRD piggyback that came with the 4.7 blower was just a MAF signal modifier too though.

 

Clearly more boost is the answer. It’s never not the answer. Ha.

 

When in doubt, add more boost.

Well there is a OD crank pulley available that bumps it upto 10 psi I think. Or a ATI superdamper for like $1400.

Later though. Not sure this tuner can do it.

 

I keep kicking around rebuilding the 4.0 with a bunch of upgraded internals and maybe just a stroker kit and then get that Steigmeier upgrade. Would probably make me happy with the power for a while lol. 20lbs of boost and shit lol

 

Too rich for my blood. I just have the steigmeier port on the runners and outlet. Don’t have their venom cooler or whatever it is.

Completely illegal (what part of my car isn’t?) but I can take 4.7 heads and slap them onto my 4.3.

 

Currently I'm just paying shit off, but hopefully sometime next year i'll be in a better place to have the truck down for a few months and I can rip the engine out and do some upgrades to it, might as well go have the blower serviced and upgraded while I'm at it. Who knows, maybe they'll be a whipple available for it by then.

I also just realized something. So there’s no way around not splicing my factory harness. So why not just wire in my AEM FIC? It’s the boomslang harness that won’t fit in my ECU’s weatherproof compartment. The AEM itself fits though. I get more tuning functions with that over the apexi too.

Your truck would also last about 800 miles before you’d throw a rod lol. NASCAR engines are built to last a race before tear down and no longer.
