Google Iron River MI, or Iron County, MI truck trails and snowmobile trails. 90% of snowmobile trails are open to trucks/atv/utv. Forest roads allover the place also. I'll be up there the rest of April, all of May (Trout season), every other weekend rest of the time.

Cool, thanks! I just downloaded this map to my Avenza app. I probably won't come up that way until June sometime.

In case I get too ancy; are the trails open now? And are they super muddy, or is it more gravel and sand?

That main trail coming out of Iron river trail #2 is an old rail road bed gravel/sand iron hard pack. Most are hard pack. There are a lot of offshoot trails that are not on the map, all are marked with forest numbers. A Gazetteer map will show all the trails. I have been there in the last two weeks, still had a couple feet of snow then.(snowmobiles were still running on them) But I hear down under a foot on ground. Will know more Thursday heading up.

FYI also, If you are looking for a place to stay. Ski Brule has great Chalets, and cabins at really good prices on off peak of ski season. American Inn in town right on trail, but a bit expensive. Good Pub/restaurant less than mile from ski hill, Snipe Lake Pub, and I'm a mile other way from Pub. 100's of miles, of trails. I bird hunt most of them, and use them to get to remote streams for trout fishing. I would be glad to show you everything I know about wheeling trails up there when/if you decide to go. I find new shit every time I go. I've been going there since early 90's

Cool! I'm looking forward to checking out the area. I'll most likely camp in Forest County, Wisconsin, and come exploring during the day. I'll let you know if and when I make plans to head up that way. Maybe we can hit the trails together

I'm missing my Tacoma that I left behind in Wisconsin, but not missing Wisconsin. Come to think of it, not really missing the Tacoma that much either, the 4Runner is a great truck to drive across country.

That's awesome! I drove mine to Florida about a month after buying it. Definitely a good road trip vehicle!

Only thing I can't get used to is the steering wheel controls for the radio are opposite of the Tacoma. Up arrow on 4R turns up volume, up arrow on Taco changes station. Weird. Both trucks are 2016s.

FYI, if anyone is getting out hiking, hitting the trails, ETC:

the ticks are out! I just took 2 off of my dog. I hate those fuckers! I never expect them to be out so early in the season. Just a friendly reminder to check yourself and your pets.

Yeah, my fiancee was working a 3 month contract in Oregon that ended March 30. I flew out and drove back with her in her 4R.
Tacoma is hopefully waiting for us to get home.

There's Ultimate Truck on Hwy 100. I've never had work done there, but I talked to a few guys from there at the sports show. They seemed OK.

Or, if you're handy, you can save a bunch doing your own work.

Yes, Moose's is the only good place around the Milwaukee area. I and friends have had them do many lifted trucks. Wouldn't go anywhere else.....
