I never understood why they put Cruise control in a manual vechile

 

It's nice in 6th gear for 3-4 hours, or in 5th or 4th in really long school zones/speed trap areas

 

Yeah I learned quick that the the 3rd gen Tacoma don't like cruise control a it likes to shift down on the smallest of hills/ overpasses which was killing my MPGs . With it I was averaging 17-18, without now 19-20. I haven't had the latest TSB done on the transmission so not sure if that would help, but I rarely use cruise now.

 

Truly interesting and baffling. Because the technology that made it useful a decade ago, is now so much better. I've heard a lot of "shift complaint" (shall we say famous?) in the third gen. Do you drive a lot of hilly roads? Because I will fully admit that when I go out to Triple C, I am in cruise, until I leave Cedar Park on 1431 - then, I use the foot. Those up and down are too much for mine as well, but all the slopes and inclines on the way there, no problem.

 

Haha yeah these 3rd Gens I tell ya, Not really hilling, my drive to work is 24 miles and mainly flat land with quite a few overpasses, every time i hit an overpass it would down shift hard just to try to maintain speed and sometimes wouldn't shift back up right away after.

 

Well, it should surprise no one that a half hour of various search phrases reveal that 3'rd gens shift funky anyway, so cruise won't change that shift points...… And modern vehicles don't share as much as you might think! And user, tech adjustments that used to be there? Software.
But, the key word used to be "threshold" - and I am calling that the setting where the "cruise speed sensor" would issue a "downshift". Now, we know you aren't supposed to get to that point with a manual.
And ADAPTIVE cruise that I bet is in Brandons Prius is a whole nother animal.....

I know these fit 2016 and newer Tacoma tweeter location but do they fit the tweeters location on 05 to 15 tacomas
