My brand new 2019 Trd sport 3.5l engines idle fluctuates slightly and some vibration . Is this normal for this engine?

Mine idles what I would call rough. Truck is fully warmed up (driven 50 miles) and you come to a stoplight and it definitely has a little shake to it. Way more so than I would think a new truck should have. This is my first Taco so I’m being patient with things.

Could be a low quality fuel supply or maybe the engine is doing a self cleaning cycle if you can hear a lot ticking aswell.

Yes it will fluctuate by a minuscule amount. Fully warmed up sometimes it jumps around in the 500-1000 RPMs. I also get a slight vibration I can feel sometimes, not a huge deal to me.

My idle changes sometimes too. I assumed it was just the AC clutch engaging and disengaging. Try turning off your climate controls and see if it still does it.

Unless your vehicle specifies different 87 is what’s needed.

My 3.5 idles glass smooth. No flactuations. I would say its not normal unless you are using your AC or opening closing windows. I use 91 octane too, maybe it helps? :notsure:

    Any fix to the problem?

I just got my 2020 Tacoma and I feel like the idle is too rough for a new truck. Not sure if it's normal. I've put 400 miles since I got it 2 weeks ago. And it hasn't gotten any smoother.

Dang really? So it's normal to be a bit lumpy at idle? I feel the vibration lightly on the floorboard as well

Yeah I drove a 2016 Taco for about a week with 58K on the clock. Sounded like a Duramax.

Is it like that always? I know there’s an injector cleaner mode that idles a bit rough but that’s temporary and only for a little bit.

I have a 2017 with 24,000 miles. Sounds just like that. Seems like it ticks like that all the time. When you increase the rpms it smooths out. Is this the norm for this motor.

Yeah it's rough at idle the whole time even with the ac off or on.

Ok guess I don't need to to change out plugs and oil. I read a thread where there's been engines with plugs not properly installed
