Pics of what???? Dog Ranger or Ellie Dog??? Not sure if I have any of my departed dogs. Ellie Dog lives in Pittsburgh, but I am sure my daughter has hundreds if not thousands of pics on her phone. Dog Ranger is here while my son is at college.

Let me know what you want and I will try.

I won’t argue with that. Seriously though, I have eaten dog and it’s not bad. The only reason people in Western culture don’t is because of the ingrained emotional attachment to dogs. It’s an animal, it can be eaten just the same as a cow or chicken.

Nothing wrong with wanting a specific dog from a breeder. Depending on what you want it could cost you $500-5000. Keep in mind caring for a dog, especially from a puppy, will get costly. Also consider if you’ll have time to spend with your dog. A lot of time, patience, and training will be beneficialin the long run. It’s more work than people think, unless you want to be THAT owner. There’s a lot we don’t think about or know until we have one.

Getting a shelter dog is just as good if not better. Mutts are usually more healthy and dare I say smarter dogs.

We have 3 dogs, shelter, breeder, and surrendered. Wasn’t plan that way but choices were put in front of us and we couldn’t say no.

Good luck with whatever you choose.

Your posts are so damn confusing. Are you talking about the dogo breed, or is that just a cute way of you saying dog? Dogos are one of best hunting dogs in the world that have been known to protect their humans and live through fights with jaguars in South America. They are arguably the best breed any hog hunter can wish for. Unfortunately, like many great breeds before them, they have gained a level of stature with suburbanites who want a unique, or boutique dog, and have recently become subject to questionable or immoral breeding practices for the sake of profit and watering down the traits that make them an amazing dog.

Regardless, if you were talking about dogos, then it does require a certain kind of owner that would allow the dog to work as its breed is intended.

And for fucks sake everybody, OP said he DOES NOT want a shelter dog. No point in recommending the same shit in every post when he already made it clear.

Yeah me and my gf have been debating this for a year plus but our schedules actually will align perfect. I work about 4am-12pm and my gf works 2pm-10pm so dog would never be home alone for at least first 2 years. I've trained 2 dogs so far to simple commands, fully house broke no problem. Parents were very cool at a young age letting me raise the family dog and having a hands off approach to it since they had done it so much before. I'm confident enough in raising another with the intent to breed it within a few years if all goes well and dog has the right temperament.

If you guys have been thinking about it for that long then I'm sure you have a plan of execution. It's your money, time, and pet, so choose what you want and what will work with your lifestyle. Post some photos once you decide on your pet.

BTW, those hours sound very familiar, 2/W 3/W.

I might have missed it but what type of dog would you be interested in? Any specific breed? There is about a million different types of medium size dogs.

As everyone else has said before I’d go to the shelter first and at least play with the dogs. The dogs need the attention and even if you don’t want it it’s a nice thing to for everyone.

My friend had a recent litter of yorkies, I knew the mom and dad dog and took one of the babies thinking it would be the same demeanor. This dog is nuts. Just cracked out and biting everyone.

My other dogs were all either rescues or strays that were going to be put down when I took them into the shelter. I had to keep them, I felt bad for even bringing them in at that point.

I’ve trained the others on the basics and some advanced tricks(my border collie healer is a genius!!). Also he loves blueberries. It’s just really hard to tell a dogs attitude when they’re young is why I noticed. No idea what they’re going to be like when they get older. It’s like having a kid but with 4 legs.

I’d rather go play fetch with my pup than watch a bug-eyed fish swim around in a bowl all day. Cats can be cool, but not for someone who is trying to be active and get out more. My dog is good at keeping me in check and gets me wanting to leave the house even on days when I’m like; “fuck off” to everyone and everything.

I have a goldfish and he gives me great joy and championship, and all he needs is some fishfood and water to swim in, everyday I come home from work he greets with his little happy bubble eyes and I become distressed after a few minutes watching him swim in circles.
