    A thing or two...
If you're running 17" wheels, the 4runner upgrade is a good choice. However, it should be noted that the 17" stock tacoma wheels won't clear without spacers.

In general, I prefer a slotted rotor to a plain rotor for better initial bite when braking. I avoid drilled rotors because cracking at the holes is a concern, especially on cheap rotors.

I really like EBC's products, but they're expensive AF. Stoptech is a good option. It's the higher end brand of Centric.

I went with Raybestos rotors and calipers, and Stoptech pads. The Raybestos calipers are new manufacture for not much more than the remanufactured ones. The rotors I bought have a wavy slot pattern, so we'll see how they do.

Morning all! Been out of it for the last week or so trying to figure out if I'm going to retire; sorry I missed that run to Peter's Mill/Tasker's Gap yesterday.

Finally ordered a header rail and brackets to mount my Hi Lift. Also finally caved and ordered the Hondo Garage phone bundle. Love waiting for new stuff to come in...

Coulda clarified. That’s if you go to the shop and pick it up, which I assume most people would do for anything armor related, not the accessories.

That was a big benefit from moving the shop from MD to DE. Only 15 min further away, but people can save a lot of money now on taxes.

Looking to get sliders but holy shit, why are bolt-on $400 more than the weld-ons? That's almost double the cost

The design/work is way more complex than weld-on, especially for Mobtown. Whether that directly translates idk but I like my bolt-on sliders from mobtown

More material (the frame plate that bolts to the frame is a lot of metal) and it needs to be laser cut and bent. Also a LOT of grade 8 hardware is supplied, and that stuff is very expensive. No lie there’s probably like $80-$100 in bolts alone.

The way that they’re designed is worth it too vs other bolt ons. They box part of the frame, use some I beam clamps, and a couple other little things that most people are unaware of. They’re stupid strong.

That said, I recommend weld on to people because they’re less maintenance. Bolt ons, you should be taking them off every year or two and touching up the frame paint.

I can’t speak for others, but our bolt on sliders have a crap load more steel. The frame mount plate is huge compared to the 4 tiny plates for weld on sliders. There’s also press brake operations for the bolt on sliders that doesn’t exist for wed on sliders. We also include two additional formed sheet metal pieces per side for the frame clamp. And 4 rear pinch clamps. A bunch of fabricated nut plates including the long reach front bolt plate. And a shit load of bolts. Basically there’s just a lot more steel and work for the bolt on sliders.

Well sounds like a bit of a trade off, weld-ons are simpler and cheaper but if I ever have a frame issue I'd be SOL. I'll have to think about this one

Not necessarily. I know a few people who had weld on sliders and got their frame replaced under recall. They just had to cut them off and reweld them on the new frame.
