$4000 for this 1997 V6 4x4 138,000 miles. Partially rolled and abused as a ranch truck. Came with stock steel rims but these 2017 rims/tires fit great for only $280.

Pioneer Radio, New rear bumper (that does not really count though). Going to be upgrading it more and more as time goes on.
Got this one for $3,000 dollars, 2003 Reg cab, 4wd, 2.7, 2" reciver, with 90,000 miles. Bought it last spring time from some one I knew, with out the frame replacement done. Even for $3,000 I thought it was a good deal.
Fast forward 6 months later, I brought it in 5 days before the 15 year frame warranty ran out, and boom they failed the frame. So it now has brand new frame, new lower ball joints, new lower control arms, new body/motor/transmission mounts, new brake lines, new gas lines, new leaf springs, new gas tank skid plate, and new gas tank straps. All that came free with the frame recall. Total bill (that I did not pay, due to recall) was $17,600!! So now I have a $3,000 truck, with new frame, and only 94,000 miles!! Can't beat that.

And yes I did have to touch up above the rear wheel wells on the truck. Had some rust spots that needed fixing. Minor though, rest of the truck is rust free now, except front bumper. Want to get a winch bumper for it soon, so that will fix that issue.

Awesome find; That's a great looking truck you've got there  Reminds me a little bit of mine when it still had its youthful good looks and innocence . Those days are long gone:sawzall::welder:

I bought my '99 TRD OR V6 EXTACAB for $25,157.00 with zero miles back in 1999. Anyone know why I paid an additional $240 for 4WDEMAND? What is that nifty little option referring to?

I’m like 99% sure that’s the push button 4wd system. Looking at your options you pretty much almost bought a fully loaded Limited Tacoma!

There’s 2 types. The 4wheel demand system is the shift on the fly 4 wheel drive system, so you wouldn’t have to get out and lock the hubs, but it would still have the j-shift transfer case. The second type was a higher option, the 4wheel demand system with the 2/4 selector switch. That eliminates the j-shift style shifter and replaces it with a straight line shifter that controls high and low range, with a button on the shifter to engage 4 wheel drive

ok I must have the j-shift (no button) but I kinda know what it would look like from a pic of the paradise blue in the '95.5 how many are still out there topic

Interesting. So are you thinking that the optional charge is for the the auto locking hubs?

I wasn't aware the 98-00's had manual locking hubs as standard. Would have preferred those and it could have saved me a couple of CV boots over the years but it's not really a big deal

However, if it's the option for the straight line shifter then Toyota has some explaining to do :duel:. My shifter configuration has evolved over the years but it started off as the J-shifter type. Today, it's a triple stick config (splits the 2 rails on the OEM T-case and moves the location forward on to the crawl box), and a short throw shifter for the transmission.
