Thanks for the info. I understand the system now, for the money I think the integration is so so.

GCH Automotive at 951-847-5673. The owner is Greg. The Korean manufacturer connected me to him.

It shows Android and iPhones in the instructions so I assume it does both. This is a page from the instructions. I have not tried an Andriod personally.

You can use the Crux SWRTY 61N, cost about $70, keeps all the functions the Datatlink does, just doesnt have the extra stuff for your head unit.

Doesn't the OEM USB connector work instead of having to add another one in order to use this CarPlay system?

Not to use apps like WAZE, google maps, etc. For that you need something other than the oem usb connector.

I order the kit from same place tonylop33 did. They have been amazing. Super helpful with amazing customer service.

As a side note. I really wanted my OEM USB port to act as the Carplay USB port. So I unplugged the USB connector from my factory radio and used one of these to adapt it to the CarPlay module (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00QF01H2E/). It seems to be working well. It loses the OEM usb capability but I prefer that it works for Carplay.

Thanks tonylop33 for putting me in contact with the company.

Everything is working fine. Once in a while the backup camera takes a couple of seconds to switch over. That is only thing I have noticed. The retail price is $599.

I’m in SoCal and rang them up. Did you have them do the install or someone else? Any problems or suggestions after a couple months?

I just got done talking with Greg over at GCH Automotive and got one myself. He is a very friendly guy and was honest about the units. i think it will be a great solution. I plan to order a 2nd for my wife if her 2015 RAV4 head unit works with them.
