What is this pink stuff?

So after a long winter I was finally able to give my truck a good cleaning.

I ran into this pink substance, that I can best explain as having the consistency the crust junk on batter terminals.

As you can see it's under the driver side of the center coinsel. Looks like it's near 2 metal tubes that im assuming is heating cooling.

Anyone have any ideas?

Coolant leak

 

My guess is coolant, since the coolant in these trucks is pink. When coolant dries it becomes crusty. That's also probably your heater core which has coolant flowing through it to provide heat. Again, just educated guesses, but I'd bet you a beer that's what it is.

Whelp, now that we have figured out what it is, where do you suppose it is coming from? Is OP's heater core leaking?

Yep, if I am not mistaken the heater core is on the drivers side.

 

Either coolant or your city is springing for the fancy himalayan pink salt for the roads

 

Aren’t heater cores a nightmare to access?

 

OP how many miles on your truck? Is it still under the 36k warranty?
