Seatbelt Warning BEEP BEEP BEEP

Does anyone know how to disconnect this? I tried getting my dealer to do it but he said something about being against the law..blah blah blah Hope it's an easy dis-connect..HELP its DRIVING ME CRAZY

 

1) Turn the Car 'ON', but do not start the engine (Leave your foot off the brake). Cycle your trip reset knob until it reads ODO. Turn the ignition back off. Wait a couple of seconds.
2) Make sure seat belt is not fastened
3) Turn the ignition back on, do not start the car (Leave you foot off the break) As soon as you see everything light up, press and hold the trip reset knob and do a long 12 second count.
4) Keep your finger on the trip reset knob. Fasten your seat belt, as soon as you fasten your seat belt, you should see the ODO display go from XXXX miles to "b-on". At that time take your finger off the trip reset knob and press it again. It should cycle to "b-off". You should be all set and turn the ignition off and unfasten your seat belt.

 

Thanks for the help..I envisioned disconnecting a lil speaker wire..Hope it works on the 2010 tacoma

omg I went straight out and tried it. I'm only getting 3 lil beeps now..Its sooo much better. This forum rocks..Glad I found it.. Thanks again

 

remove it completely when you do the LED cluster mod....kill two birds w/ one stone!

 

Or wear your seat belt.

 

It has nothing to do with that.... if you've got a 12 pack of beer riding shotgun the stupid thing beeps constantly.

 

I did a week ago on my 2010 and it worked. I usually buckle up when I start rolling but it was still annoying hearing it beep.

 

I'l wear my seat belt when I choose..Don't feel like BIG BROTHER telling me otherwise. Especially in a Truck that I paid ALOT of money for..

 

12 pack doesn't weigh enough for the air bag to arm. I had a 19" CRT monitor on the seat, the light said off.
Methinks you should wear your seatbelt. I'm a betting man, and I like the odds of on vs off.

 

I agree, but it would always start beeping with my gym bag or groceries in the passenger seat. I don't think my soccer gear needs a seat belt, but unfortunately the Tacoma doesn't distinguish between a person and inanimate objects.

 

You guys have some hosed up seats. The seat senson should be calibrated to distinguish between light stuff and a person. Mine will not arm without a person on it.

 

The guy didn't ask for lectures on wearing a seatbelt. He asked how to disable it and got his answer.

 

Alright, maybe it was a bag of dog food. Does it really matter? The point is the thing doesn't need to constantly beep at me when I have an inanimate object in the front seat.

I guess I have more confidence in my driving ability than you. Next you'll be telling me that I should install a seat belt on my motorcycle..

 

You haven't seen my dogs then. You're about as bad as the beeper, I don't need it or you telling me how to drive my truck.
