I think they are 2x10 boards, the whole bed footprint is 4'x10'. I usually try to plant it in 2x2 sections and in some cases combine for plants I grow large crops.

I think that will work for me . Got room for two. I get 3•3 and4•4 at work all the time. Lumber price total might not be too bad. Think I will use the 6-10 mil plastic barrier on the inside for the wood as well ,thanks.

That fence looks good, I want to build a hog panel fence in my side yard to keep the dogs in. How did you end up securing the panels to the framing? I have been looking for pictures online but everywhere just shows a view of the whole fence without any detail of the framing and finish work.

I bought the trellises from our local garden center. I'm growing green beans and snap peas on the trellises between the tomatoes, and cucumbers on the one in front. So far I have everything in-ground except onions. This year will be tomatoes, beans, zucchini, yellow squash, cucumbers, radishes, red and walla walla onions, spinach, Thai and jalapeno peppers. Also have rosemary, thyme, sage, basil, dill, chives, and oregano in the herb garden.

Same issue I had, couldn’t ever find a actual picture of the construction. The panels are just sandwiched between the wood. I’ve got a sketchup drawing at home, I’ll PM you this evening showing the construction

When I built my gates, I stapled (using my air gun) the fencing to the boards to hold it in place, then placed the second board and cross-screwed them to hold them together, for the same basic sandwich effect. Makes for a really sturdy design, even using something fairly brittle like white cedar (my local rot-proof wood of choice)

But, I don't think I have any in-progress pictures...I'll see if I can get a detail shot of the completed panel when I get home tonight, if you want?

Anything you guys can give me would be much appreciated. I've had a few ideas of how to go about it but seeing what has worked for other people would be great.

Nothing fancy since they're just garden gates, but the concept is the same. To fancy them up you'd insert this panel design into a frame, and put a top cap on it.

Been meaning to post this pic. Butter lettuce containers make excellent seed germination containers in a pinch. Worked well last year in a pinch. Adequate soil depth and spacing and don’t over seed so you can separate.

How much soil in yards did it take to fill that?
Got a decent price on six two by tens at $11 each per garden so 12 if I do two

I think it was around 2-2.5 yards each, it's been a couple years since I filled them. Over time it did compact down and once I get them finished I will probably get some compost to add in and mix in the top.
