I can see maybe if you couldnt get off a bridge but Where I lived in Abilene people were always getting smacked by the train. Its goes through the middle of town but typically in flat spot and no bridges near where they get killed. And I know the train blows the horn all the way through town.

African Rhino Poacher Trampled by Elephant, Then Eaten by Lion

Conservation officers in South Africa found the body of a suspected poacher that they now think was killed by an elephant who trampled him. But, to add another layer to the man’s death, his body was also partially eaten by a lion.

    14460822-5E28-4E31-9D2A-E164E399F88F.jpg

Officials of the South African National Parks Service told reporters of the body discovered at the Kruger National Park. Authorities said that the man’s family reported that he had been killed, according to the Daily News.

Four fellow poachers reportedly fled the scene as the man was being trampled and reported the death to the man’s family. The family then contacted park officials and a search party for the remains was organized.

“Entering Kruger National Park illegally and on foot is not wise, it holds many dangers, and this incident is evidence of that,” Kruger National Park Managing Executive Glenn Phillips said. “It is very sad to see the daughters of the diseased mourning the loss of their father, and worse still, only being able to recover very little of his remains.”

The African Wildlife Foundation has warned that poaching “threatens the biodiversity of the entire continent” in Africa.

The organization added that “between January 2005 and January 2017, nearly 2,000 elephants and roughly 6,300 rhinos had been slaughtered at the hands of poachers in South Africa and Kenya alone.”

The four men who were attempting to poach with the deceased were later arrested and will soon appear in court.

    Florida Man does not disappoint.

    https://www.foxnews.com/us/florida-man-arrested-for-burglary-minutes-after-leaving-jail

PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. – A Florida man was re-arrested within minutes after he was released from jail for burglarizing cars in the jail's parking lot.

The St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office says 37-year-old Casey Lewis bonded out of jail Thursday, only to be caught by deputies burglarizing several cars outside the jail.

Lewis was booked inside the jail on burglary charges and then released a second time that day on bond.

Treasure Coast Newspapers reports Lewis originally was brought to the jail on a grand theft charge.

Port St. Lucie is the next town north of my town. You have to go over a river to get there.

I dont go over the river very often. Maybe once a year for the boat show that is just the other side of the bridge. It kind of weird up there.

Live Civil War-era cannonball discovered in Kansas museum

APRIL 6, 2019 BY POST STAFF 0 COMMENTS

PLEASANTON, Kan. (AP) — Authorities in eastern Kansas have detonated a Civil War-era cannonball that had been on public display for two decades before officials determined it was live ordnance.

KMBC -TV reports that the cannonball had been on display for 20 years at a Pleasanton museum before it was detonated Friday afternoon.

The 90-pound cannonball was donated to the Trading Post Museum. It had originally been purchased in the Chesapeake Bay area in the 19th Century.

A visitor to the museum Thursday noticed a fuse in the cannonball and alerted museum officials that it might still be live. Museum officials contacted authorities, and Fort Riley’s Explosives Ordnance Disposal Unit later came out to detonate it in a controlled environment.

    No one was injured.

By the way, the Trading Post Museum isn't in Pleasanton, it's in Trading Post, about 12 miles north of Pleasanton.
