Was fun but white mountain was icy as all hell, could barely get up the first hill climb lol. This late in winter you have all the fresh snow on top and the old stuff is frozen solid underneath, soon as you dig through the powder you're just spinning on ice.

On our way down my truck kept intermittently losing power whenever I'd hit a bump or make a turn, couldn't figure it out but it ran fine on smooth straightaways. Next morning I was able to take a better look and saw that my battery had come loose on the tray and was sliding over and the positive terminal was making contact with the metal bracket that's supposed to hold the battery in place. The corner of it was melted off from getting zapped so many times. Practically melted the ground wire. Fixed it up yesterday and runs fine now

Welding off a shorting 12v battery is fun m'kay! :welder: glad you were able to get home without it frying any sensitive components!

Yeah that's what I was afraid of when I saw what happened the next day, I did end up getting a CEL out on the trail that said I had a bad circuit to my air/fuel sensor but once I fixed the battery and replaced the ground wire it cleared itself and hasn't come back.

Edit - it cleared even before I disconnected the battery, just hoping it stays that way.

Sounds fun. Maybe I can wheel again soon.

The place is coming along nicely.

Probably better that you took a break from wheeling while dealing with the house stuff...seems every time I go out lately I break something and have to spend money on it lol. At least you didn't have to worry about spending on the truck while spending on the house.

Sounds good, I'm busy next weekend but maybe the one after we can plan something

Hey all, new to this thread and forum. I have an 05' Taco and would love to meet up to do some "wheelin'". I'm in South Orange County (Laguna Niguel). I might wait until July until my new bumper arrives to hit any serious type of trails though. Hope to meet some good friends out this way.

I ordered my bumper from Shrockworks and they did have a skid plate option but I wasn't sure, nor were they, on if it would fit with my 6" lift. Recommendations?

I assume you are running a drop bracket lift?

Not aware of any skids that will work with those. Then again I have also never looked.

No. It's a full suspension lift from procomp

Are you 2wd or 4x4? To my knowledge there's no way to lift a 4x4 Tacoma 6" other than a drop bracket lift, or unless you stack lifts which would be unwise. Got a link to the kit? Or some pics of the truck, be cool to see it anyhow. Welcome to the thread
