Contemplating making the jump from 35’s. Anyone running this size?
    PROS, CONS?

Let’s discuss it.. good or bad I’d like to know.
I’m mostly concerned with the steering rack and diffs.

YES I know it’s going to require trimming. I will be running glass fenders, cab mount relocation, and a +3.5 kit. Already have 4.88’s but may need 5.29’s. I measured my friends KM3’s 37x12.50x17 on his raptor and they run pretty small(35.5”) so I’m thinking I can pull it off.

Post your pics of 3rd gens on 37’s thanks!

I wish the Tundra rack upgrade was more of a drop in, as I don't have the equipment or skills to do fab work. I'm really sad that Mike doesnt seem to be releasing the Mar-Rack as a standalone upgrade either, as the steering rack is my biggest complaint with 35s, and I'm not even thinking about 37s without more beef there. It's a struggle to turn the wheels on pavement while stationary, let alone on the trail with tons of additional stress.

Regardless, I'm in this thread for the pics. Even if they're all just of @erok81 's truck.

The steering will definitely take a hit, I would highly suggest a Marrack from marlin crawlers. I don’t have 37s but a lot of people on the forums say anything over 35s will kill your steering rack and brakes

What's the point of running "37's" if they measure 35.5"?

Only thing I can think of is they’re mounted on a wheel bigger than 17” :notsure:

Other than possibly trying the Marlin lt system I wouldn't even attempt 37s without going sas

I just can't see the CVs, steering rack or front diff for that matter handling that big of a tire if it's actually being used off road.

Hell even the rear axle I'd be concerned.

If you aren’t running a true 37” then it isn’t too bad. If you’re gonna run a true 37 like a toyo then you will need to tub the firewall and relocate your inner fenders. Diffs will still be a weak link and if running a true 37 you’ll regularly go thru racks unless you swap out to the tundra rack solo offers

Actually, my Falken 35’s measure 33.5”, so technically I can now run a “true” 35”

Well....that’s a true upgrade in size then. I’m on board.

Will the wheels turn a wide enough arc to still be useful without hitting the engine or rad, or is that stuff still miles away?

Are you running a mar rack? In their latest product thread for the full system, they seemed to indicate that you will only be able to get the mar rack as a part of that system.

If you've bought it individually I'd love to know where you got it from.

Maybe the “Meso-rack” will be the next Great Leap Forward in mod offerings.

I have 37’s as @Jibbs mentioned. I’m running them with a 3.5” long travel and 6” fiberglass fenders/besides. Also only have 4.88’s (with OV tune) and it’s an auto.

The gearing is fine. I feel like it’s the same as 285’s and stock. I really need to update the tune as I’m still on the first one. I think the newest one will make a big improvement. If not gear lock will.

The fit is a different story. My can mount is pretty much cut to the bushing both on the front and side. Both sides rub at full lock when turning. Only solution is either tub the firewall or get friendly with a big sledgehammer. I haven’t done either yet because I haven’t cared enough. I don’t think my truck is lifted much higher than an inch or so.

I will say they look good though! Here’s a couple of random pics.

Nothing has broken or worn out yet. I have about 7-8k on them by now?

Thanks! What tires are you running? Some run small, some large

I’ve seen a ton of 2nd gens but not 3rd

Mine are pro comp a/t sport. I was going to look them up to see actual size but never did. There’s a thread in the tire section I made with weights of the tires and wheels. But you can find online I’m sure.

One thing to note I don’t really do any hardcore off road anymore. So I you do that your mileage will vary with broken stuff.

That Marlin truck has a special all pro long travel that pushed the tires forward a bit to help. I don’t know if that ever made it to production though.

Only difference between 2nd and 3rd gens when it comes to fitting 37’s is the fender flares. Firewall, suspension geometry, and inner fenders are all the exact same

Wheel specs and how much caster you can get will be the biggest factors
