Driver seat mod 2016 Tacoma 3rd Gen

Do I have to disconnect the battery before modifying the height of the drivers seat?
I'm concern about deploying the air bag.

No. If you are just fitting the spacers, the seat doesn’t need to be removed or unplugged.

 

Thank you, I only want to raise the rear seat and place a spacer under it. I assume that by unplugging the harness under the seat the air bag will deploy ? So if only loosening all 4 seat bolts and only raising, air bag will not deploy.

Unplugging the seat will not deploy the airbag. Guys remove their seats all the time for running wires and other mods, or if solo camping in their cab “seat delete” style.

 

Anyone have info as to options for LOWERING the driver's seat on a 3rd gen please?

 

Miata seats were often reshaped for tall drivers with a carving knife. After removing the seat cover of course.

Not sure how much foam is there to work with in a Tacoma, but a couple of inches was pretty easy in them.
