My fiancé and I are considering the move to Vegas from Montana. We have been in the food and beverage industry for quite awhile. The cost of living where we are now is getting outrageous and we want to try something new. It seems like there are tons of things to do in and around the area. Any advice on parts of town to live in? Any advice in general? Good places to work? Places to stay away from? Thanks so much and look forward to possibly meeting some TW family there.

I live in northern Nevada but there’s no way I’d move from Montana to LV.

Summerlin is the place to be IMO, but there are tons of amazing places in Las Vegas to live. I would suggest just visiting and googling.

Probably avoid living in Vegas itself. If you needed to work in Vegas maybe look at Henderson.

Personally I like Reno more, seems like there’s more outdoors things to do an hour in all directions. That’s just me.

If I HAD to, I’d go Henderson or Summerlin or the very SW corner south of summerlin off of blue diamond, but Vegas sucks

Honeslty, don’t care for Reno that much either but at least its not Vegas.

The road system in Vegas is definitely better than Reno but I’d find a place to live within a reasonable drive of whatever job you find. Traffic is still bad and it takes a decent while to get from say Henderson to Summerlin.

Been in Vegas 12 years, best access to versatile outdoor life style I have lived. I have lived in San Diego, AZ, Southern WI, KY, and NYC. I have not been to a casino is years, but I can off-road 10 minutes from my house. Few realize what this area has to offer since the Strip is the attraction for most. Good luck and PM me if you make the move, happy to show you around.

    Too few to list.
Like others have said, Summerlin or Henderson have the best neighborhood though I find the outskirts away from the city center itself is not so bad either. Cheaper as well though housing has gone up. We have a house there and it has gone up $75K in two years though it could have just been a good buy then.

If you like trails Las Vegas is a good hub. You have camping/dunes/trails all around you. It has a decent Tacoma community here too! I have been here going on 7 years now. It's a lot different here than the midwest where I'm originally from where you can see the West and East state borderlines because of how flat it is.

LV is nuts. Jobs yes but everything along with jobs, crime, stupid drivers.

I live in the NW. Lot's of military, fire fighters, cops, etc. living here. I like it.

20 minutes north and I can find a spot to go shooting in the desert. Two hour drive and im in Utah. 3 Hour drive and Im in SoCal visiting family. Tons of places to hike, go shooting, etc.

    So much to do here.

But like others mentioned, coming from Montana, I would stay there if I was you.

If you have any questions, shoot me a PM
