    Hi everyone,

I own a 2019 Limited Tacoma. Here in Puerto Rico there's been an increase in the theft of Tacomas, and I was wondering if anyone here recommends any alarm system or any anti-theft system

Welcome to the forum! When I park at a trailhead I use one of these. Won’t stop someone from breaking in but will sure will slow them down on stealing my truck.

How does that work? On the steering wheel? I have not seen one of these in some time and thought they are not being sold. I think years ago one was called "The Club"

Checkout Owl Dash/Security Camera system, owlcam.com

Its probably your best option. You will instantly know when someone breaks into you vehicle, and you will know who they are. You might consider some kind of GPS device. I hope this helps.

the Owl part of the vid starts around 10m30seconds'ish

Add a kill switch or take out the ignition fuse

    too many to list
I havent done it yet, but I usually do a kill switch for my fuel pump and a kill switch for my ignition and hide them somewhere in the cab. If they break in, cool. They arent going very far with my truck unless they tow it

OK, Can someone elaborate on kill switch. This Owl cam you need a phone, and I do not use one. I know what you are saying... Caveman.... my kids tell me this all the time..So the kill switch sounds like a great option for me

First, with a Limited, I think an alarm already comes with it (not 100% sure about that). Second, you should have push to start? If you do, thieves can't simply drive off. And as mentioned before, get the Club as it deters thieves. Bottom line, if someone wants it bad enough, they'll take it.

It’s difficult (not impossible) to steal “drive away” push to start systems... however, towing away is more likley. Install a cell tracker so you’ll know when it’s being moved (either tow or drive away), and be able to recover quickly... may have a damaged truck, but someone will be going to jail.

I have an owl and I love it. Haven’t had anything happen with it monitoring but it’s fairly cheap insurance.
