Probably more as in, which custom made to order camper setup did you go with that has no wait time? :notsure:

Damn those are available with Prime now? :(

Although this is the version without the casing and with the old remote. But still pretty good for not having to wait a month for one from China

Yeah I wasn’t sure / clear if perhaps a base shell is faster to produce maybe ? All do but not nearly 10 month come on. Habitat is about 3 months tops. A used one can be had now lol just not enough drifters out yet for the used market to consider unfortunately.

Each camper is made to order. So if someone wants a slider on the driver side and Frontrunner Gullwing on the passenger side, those panels are laser cut for that specific camper. Each camper is built in the sequence it was ordered in. So a base model will be built, and panels ordered without window cutouts, based on a customer’s specific order.

We are happy to provide customers options in accordance with their needs.

Someday we hope to have campers in stock and ready for immediate purchase. But with the upcoming release of the full-sized model, it will not likely be this year or next.

We are definitely rooted in the Tacomaworld community and take this relationship seriously. @Iggy and I met through TW, and this community has been instrumental in the success of Vagabond. The full sized folks are chomping at the bit to get Vagabonds, and we will start producing those in the same sequence as Drifter orders.

It appears to be a nice product! I do hope that production will pick up the paste for you guys, just not willing to wait 10 month currently otherwise I would be making an order. Keep up the great work perhaps I'll be back placing an order later at some point!

Be careful, I’ve never known AT to actually have accurate lead times for their campers.

If you order now you'll have it in 10 months. If you wait six months for production output to increase and it only takes four months you'll still have it in 10 months.

Or wait six months, and in that time more people order Drifters or the full size version, and instead of a 10 month wait, its a 12 month wait on top of the 6 months you waited :goingcrazy:

I really want to build something similar. But not sure which way I want the cabinet door to open. I was thinking having them open the other way so I can grab stuff through the FR Gullwing Windoor rather than opening swingout and climbing inside etc..

    why not do both?

Just have hinges on both sides and build a frame around the door.

If you're trying to grab recovery equipment or even just to make diy cooler, this is doable.

the best way of doing it would probably to make a steel insert w/ 1/8" steel frame w/ a 3/8"-1/2" lip around for the wood to sit on.

It would be essentially a "Z" if you look at it opened up part way from the cross sectional view.

This is King StarBoard HDPE Marine Building material. its 3/8 but you can also get 1/2. Don't get me wrong, the MTN hatch cover looks super good and really well made. I figured for 60 bucks it was worth a try.

Yea although I have a nice spot for recovery gear in one of the drawers, I realized on the last trip that I need to move those to a bag of some sort in the cab before running any technical trails. Was a pain in the ass to ask other people for recovery gear because opening my swing out wasn't an option and that particular drawer doesn't have a top lid to open (its the bottom of the two drawers), so I couldn't climb through a windoor either.

But yea about the opening of cabinet lids, fridges etc, it's one of those decisions you'll have to make. You can't go wrong either way. One way will have to be compromised, unless you do what Stan mentioned. Seems a little cumbersome though

I moved my recovery gear in cab and externally as well for that exact reason

The spot behind the rear seats is pretty cavernous and what I used it for.

My cabinet lids open towards the outside, but I had still access them pretty easily from in the bed.
