What purchase have you REGRETTED the most?

4runners stopped being cool in 1989... sorry not sorry. Here is my old 4runner. I looked at a 5th gen and it looked like someone smoking crack designed the interior, I went with the tacoma solely due to this....

 

Well if I had all the money in the world I would have a 79 series land cruiser... and a 76 series for the wife

 

I get more use out of the longer bed than I do out of the back seat. Only gets used 3-4 times a year if the grandkids visit. And they'll just have to live with it

 

I still cant close the tail gate with a long bed so Ide be in the same boat with the short bed anyways. now if the taco was offered with a 6'6 bed then ide be happy

 

I regret buying a S&W M&P Shield 9mmfirst gen. Trigger is like sandpaper, no consistent break, train spring for recoil, too damn small, and it's ugly.

 

Haha, yeah, I thought I'd be doing trail rides and easy stuff, not getting into rock crawling, and need bigger tires to air down more for that.

 

I regretted ordering my levelling kit and booking the install, so I called and cancelled.

Felt amazing. I have modded the shit outta my vehicles for 20+ years. Such a waste of money, an addiction in itself LOL.

I regret going brand new, convinced myself going new was the right thing to do at this point in my life. Wish I went another decent used 2nd Gen even though they are selling at crazy high prices here.

Only mod I’ve regretted was installing the Retrofit HID headlights. Not that it was a bad product, I just couldn’t get them to not blind oncoming traffic after putting the Icon lift on. Took them out and installed the GE +130 Halogens and have been pleased ever since.

 

I regret the E Rated tires I got instead of going back with C Rated.
I only have 5k miles on them- Bfg K02’s 275/65/18 (32”).
Anyone want to trade their C Rated 18” A/T tires for mine?

 

Before buying the truck I checked online some accessories like mudguards, floor mats, door sill guards, badge overlays, tailgate inserts, TRD shifter, etc. Turns out you can get everything afterwards a LOT cheaper than having it installed on the truck.

Thing is pretty much every Tacoma out there already has a trifold tonneau, mudguards, door guards, and a bunch of other things installed. The only truck without any accessories was 200 miles away. Luckily the dealer is willing to bring it over.

Coming from Jeeps, I find Tacoma accessories quite inexpensive.

PS - I like the TRD Pro grille, but that one looks like one very expensive giant piece of plastic.

 

Buying the tech package with trifold tonneau cover. The tech package is a terrible interface, I use my phone for everything. The cover was nice but I already upgraded to Diamondback.

 

Cheap Tube steps, three years and the things are starting to rust... Bought them mainly for door ding protection.

 

Gotta agree with this one. Unless it's for towing, or an Off-Roader only and not a DD, it's overkill.

I absolutely love my C Load 265/75/16 Duratracs. Very aggressive A/T tire with a great rain rating! Wish they made them in a 255/80 or 85/16

 

I regret my bakflip cover more and more. I bought it because I could secure things in my bed, it sat flush on the top of the bed rails and I liked the streamline look. I’ve learned functionally, it eats up bed space and I’d rather have a cover that might not be as streamlined so I could have a higher clearance inside.

Also after 3 years of use, the quality has degraded significantly. The rubber doesn’t seal much of anything and my bed is constantly wet.

 

Yup, my C-load 285 BFG KO2 ride much better than my old 255/80r17 ST Maxx's did. They feel more confident on the highway at 70+mph too.
