Found a local guy advertising 3rd Gen rock sliders on Facebook Marketplace for $450 so I figured I would give him a shot. He just installed them yesterday (included in the $450) and I'll be painting them with POR15 undercoat and KBS Satin Black topcoat next weekend.

Overall very happy with the results but I'll probably still spend an hour or so with a grinder cleaning some things up before I paint!

Also located in Gilbert. Where's he at? Pics of the frame mounting?

4 of these feet drilled through the frame. I’m going to drill the additional bottom holes this weekend before I paint them.

Not guna lie, looks cheesy! Especially when compared to the other name branded vendors. Does he have a way to contact him? I might be interested in buying just the prebent hoop / slider.

BAMF sliders bolt up similarly with the same required drilling points, but with better fit/finish. That gap at the back is troubling. Can't tell if this is using the same frame holes from this pic but probably is.

The BAMF sliders are 100% USDA Choice beef.

If the mounting points are the same then OP will get to experience the joy of drilling through the boxed portion of the frame. Sharpen your drill bits!

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.

That's false our sliders are 100% drill free and have been for years.

To the OP you get what you pay for in this industry low cost doesn't always mean a deal.

Not too worried about the frame mounting method. I love the look of the exposed sliders, but as far as how the frame mounting points look, not concerned. The other three feet are 100% snugged up flush and there's plenty of "foot" on the frame on that last mounting point.

As far as drilling through the boxed portion of the frame, yeah, going to suck!

No way in hell I'd be drilling my frame, new truck or otherwise...but that's just me.

If you're good, then it's all good!

I don't mind drilling the frame, the key is making sure you properly treat the holes after you drill. These super high strength steel frames are a pain to drill though.

Most sliders are bolt on without drilling. Personally I'd spend a few extra on DOM steel.

    Beautiful Truck though!

Thanks! They are DOM from what I was told:

"I use 2x2 .120 for the base and to connect to the frame with 2x2 angle on the frame bolt on or weld on and a 1.5 .120 dom tube for the rest of the slider."

That right there is a huge red flag! 2x2 Angle is not enough to support the weight of the truck. And Im assuming no leg gussets seeing how the leg and the angle are the same size. He might want to re think the mounting design.

I thought that sounded on the small size but couldn't remember off hand.

They seemed to support the truck fine with a high-lift jack even without the bottom holes drilled. To be honest they must be bigger than 2x2 though as there is material above the leg although it is admittedly only about 1/4"-1/2" extra using my fine tuned eyeball measuring tape. Out of curiosity what is the metric used to determine what size "foot" will support the weight of the truck? Is there a specific measurement or just breaking smaller stuff?

Are there better designs out there? Sure. Am I worried about this design on my truck for the very limited times this truck will be resting on rock sliders? Nope.
