Am I the only one here who is terrified by artificial intelligence? This scares the shit out of me

That's pretty scary! But, still not as scary as artificial intelligence. Anyone who thinks that artificial intelligence and robots are a good idea hasn't watched enough movies:eek:

Honestly I'm not worried about it... I mean sure we see all this crazy stuff and movies that potentially they say could happen in the future blah blah blah... But I'm going prank call that down with one thing...

Developers and engineers now days are way too damn crappy/lazy to even come close to something like the terminator. All of the good ones from the 60s 70s and 80s and then after that they pretty much died off.. Haha

Well, who knows what is developed that isn't known to the public yet.

I agree that people, in general, are lazier than previous generations.

But, there are still some very hard working, brilliant people out there.

It may never happen, but I consider robotics and artificial intelligence a real threat to humanity. Not because I think that robots would turn "evil", or some kind of conspiracy, though.

It just seems that any intelligent being, capable of learning and independent thought, would eventually realize that humans are destroying the planet. This could lead them to also decide that the best thing for the survival of the planet would be to eliminate the humans.

I probably sound a little crazy, but I don't think it's that big of a stretch of imagination.

    I await the impending shit-storm:crapstorm:

Agreed . Sure it can run and jump, but no where near as agile as a human. It would be so easy to knock it over...not to mention a few falls and the thing is toast...

Don't even get me started about the power supply...haha

The power supply is the biggest limitation.

All of these things are improving constantly.

Yes they are but unless they pop a nuclear reactor into one they will never have enough power capacity to do crazy stuff. You also have to think about the dangers of having extremely energy dense batteries. If you think lithium batteries make a good bang just wait until they crank up the density of energy..haha. booooom!

If you look up different chemicals and batteries and you see the difference and energy density it's crazy.
