What did you drive before your Taco?

And before that was a Chevy S10.... that had a laundry list of repairs... 4 fuel pumps, AC, timing chain and many more I am probably forgetting.... it makes me laugh when people complain about overpriced Toyotas and use Chevy, Ford as comparisons.....

2001 Chevy 2500 HD quad cab short bed with the 6.0L v8.

Never left me stranded buuuut:

1 Transmisison rebuild (cus it was out due to a known issue of cracking torque converter lockup at 120k miles)
2 O2 sensors
2 knock sensors
1 radiator
1 front hub
1 entire front steering rebuild
2 window motor replacements

and a bunch of other lil things


That all stated, ill be honest, wish i kept it with the advances in the LS/LQ motor goodies. The truck and frame were solid, once that trans was rebuilt it would chirp tires on the stock motor between first n second and was rated for 650hp. Wish i kept it, thrown some 2003+ heads on it, a mild mid range cam, a tune and headers which are all relatively cheap. Coulda been making 400ish whp, with similar mpgs as my tacoma. O well... tacoma it just get in and go and not worry about things haha.

Its locked up in a shop for the past 5 years but one day will come back out to play.

 

This looks like my ‘92 Acura Vigor (just a google picture). I loved it. It was somewhat rare and a little weird with the north-south 5-cylinder engine and front wheel drive MT. The car had a 60:40 weight distribution and limited slip differential. Back seat was worthless for adults. I only sold it because the HVAC fan was going out. Never in the history of cars is replacing that more difficult. Look up Eric the Car Guy on YouTube and see him replace one.

Also had a Saturn Ion 2 that lasted a week. Previous owner dropped bolts in the intake to presumably the harmonic balancer that wasn't attached properly. Guy I sold it to tore it down and sent me pictures later of the insides.
