Maybe you should do some more driving in different conditions or even try the performance version. It takes time, aka multiple tanks of fuel to settle in. I get better mpgs on perf.

Is there any huge difference between perf versions 87 and 93 octane?

I haven't had a chance to try 93 perf yet, only 87 perf but looking at the dyno, the numbers they are putting out look very similar in the <4500rpm range. @OVTune ?

Just curious since most of the acceleration I do, it's always around 2-5k rpm range unless you are just gunning for it.

One thing I wished the tune fixed, is sometimes when pressing the pedal further down while already accelerating, doesn't seem to do much. It's almost like it tries to hold gear.

If I quickly let go of throttle and then stomp on it, it will quickly downshift and accelerate more rapidly, which is what was intended in the first place.

I thought 04B01 was an early cal ID... your truck is a 17, correct?

    Are you 100% sure it's 04B01? Post a pic?

Thanks everyone for all the help! Got techstream installed, computer flashed to 04 and the performance 1.05 installed. Initial impression, she feels alive!

If I want gear lock, do I just download and install that as well? Wasn't sure if it would mess with the performance install

If you want gearlock, you just download and flash it, you don’t need to flash performance first. Each one is a separate tune.

Been riding 91 perf for a few thousand miles. Love the highway driving, but would still turn on etc on my drive due to it sometimes downshifting from 6th to 4th pretty abruptly on this same hill on the freeway every single day no matter what. Turning on etc got rid of that and my morning commute was pretty awesome. I just switched to 87 base to try that out, only have a few hundred miles on it and I think I am definitely missing the power of 91, especially on the low end and trying to maintain speed. I'm usually up to about 80-85 in the mornings with nobody on the road. The base tune however, is nicer driving in traffic on the way home. The performance tune is jerky and abrupt in 1st and 2nd due to the tip in. I didn't mind it too much but it definitely gets annoying when you're barely touching the pedal and your truck jolts with the slightest depress of the pedal. I wish there could be a tune similar to the performance tune, except a milder tip in, in just 1st and second gear due to the truck driving so roughly in traffic and stop and go. Loving all the improvements though, I'm along for this ride and have been since 1.02. Came a long way, thanks Mat and Ovtune!

what should be settle in? 87 gains no more trq and that is what this truck needs. The different shiftpoints fits only for people with no larger tires and or with less highway driving to save gas

when you flash the truck, it has to learn some things again as they get reset during the flashing process (fuel trims, etc). it takes some time for this to initialize and 'settle in'. Usually a tank of fuel or so.

I want the version who gains torque in 87 (I have 04B61) and which adjust it automatically to the current gas in the tank. Then I can mix 87 and 93 because there is no 91 in my area.

Anyone know if the 04b30 update will help the flat spots? I only see that it’s supposed to help the stutter. Around 60mph the truck will upshift and have weak throttle response until I mash on the pedal. 87 performance.

Fuel trims are learning on the fly. this process is constantly and is owed to the emission control

I put 89 in my truck this morning with the 87 tune. It ran a bit smoother, enough for me to notice atleast.
