The bed length of the gladiator is the same as the short bed Tacoma I’m pretty sure

I agree for ownership and daily use, but a single cab would be sweet af on the trails like that one. I think that single cab looks better than the 4door.

A solid axle Toyota pickup would walk all over it though. And for about 30k less

What Tanner said. Dont compare apples to oranges. An old custom built jeep will match up to an old solid axle Toyota, except in the drivetrain lol.

A new single cab gladiator stock will outdo a new single cab Tacoma. Yes...for more $$

I get notifications from a few scrapyards when they get in Toyota trucks. As soon as I get the notification I head out to see what I can get off them. If they are 4x4s unless I get there at opening they will not be anything on them, doors, glass, fenders, interior, tailgate and all the drive train and suspension will be gone. They are people that make a living on stripping vehicles.

Not at all. Before I bought my T4R I was trying to get a 4 door Sahara Wrangler and literally the only thing that stopped me was I couldnt find, or justify a lock box big enough to accommodate my golf clubs and gear when I would roll with the top off.

Not necessarily. An 85 or prior is still solid axle.

stock for stock the 85 would not outdo a new jeep, idk much about the older CJs though so can't speak for them.

I would bet my house that a stock Gladiator would out perform a stock 85 yota. Just because we drive Toyota's doesn't mean they are the be all end all vehicles.

Didn’t Toyota do away with the single cab? Either way, I’m not so sure that a stock single cab gladiator would outdo an equally equipped stock Tacoma. Stock Jeeps have very little flex.

With the exception of the rubicon, which the TRD Off Road can’t compare to, a Toyota can hang with a Jeep stock for stock.

At the end of the day this is a stupid argument and will never go anywhere.

you could compare the pro to a rubicon as the top of the line offerings from each manufacture. yes the pro can't compete, but that's not jeeps fault, that's on toyota not making the Tacoma ZR2 lol.

barebones wranglers vs barebones tacomas meaning cheapest offerings from both manufactures the jeep rules. they don't sell wranglers in 2x4 :D

I wonder if Toyota will ever put a front locker in a TRD Pro and somewhat justify the price tag.

I can't justify the pro as it's a status vehicle. My moms truck has everything minus suspension and LED fogs that a pro has for 8k less.

i'm not counting grill or blackened lenses on lights as it's not functional.
