All about deflection, lifting the truck is one thing, bouncing it down onto a rock is another thing! Atleast you have some protection and it’s mounted to the frame and not the body!

P.S. I guess the "feet" on this set are 2.5" angle and are 3/8" thick so he did apparently change it up a bit from previous sets.

If all you want is the slider with no feet this guy's weld on sliders come just like mine are with the feet still detached. He's in Chandler. I'll PM you his contact info.

FYI this is more or less how CBI sliders attach. What size bolts does it use? CBI's are 1/2" diameter.

3/8", three bolts per leg, four legs per slider.

I would imagine he would probably sell just the pre-bent/cut tubing but not sure how much. I'll ask him if I can send his phone number.

I may be wrong but it also looks like the frame mounts that most of these guys are using are a lot thinner than 3/8" so gussets may not be totally necessary with the thicker mounting plates.

Edit: Looks like BAMF uses "CNC formed 3/16th laser cut legs and frame plates"

@JLee the ones you sold me five years ago had holes for drilling into the bottom of the frame. I believe at the time you recommended it if you were going to hi-lift off the sliders

I didn't realize you changed your design - my bad.

Phew. Nice looking sliders, but yeah, that connection style.

Speaking as someone who has serious steel design and engineering experience, this connection setup looks a bit sketch.

Not trying to knock the guy for attempting to fill a desire in a market and make some extra coin, but perhaps he should talk with someone who knows a little bit more than he does about steel design before charging people for a product.

As a quick FYI, mounting plate thickness is just one small variable in the design of a steel connection. Just because the mounting plate is as thick as molasses in winter time doesn't make the attachment method a good one. In fact, too thick and it surpasses the optimal thickness and begins to be detrimental to the truck.

2x2 is not big enough for the frame mounting.

I'd doubt its DOM being how cheap you got the sliders. It's probably HREW. There is nothing wrong with HREW and will probably serve you just fine. If the sliders are more for looks and light offroad your fine. If your going to use them as intended then the mounting will be the biggest concern.

Thank you for the constructive post! Does 2.5x2.5 x3/16”make it better or still undersized in your opinion? Like you said for light wheeling I’m not too worried about it but I know the builder is following this thread so he is probably interested in your opinion as well!

The guy seems very genuine so I have no reason to believe he’s lying about the tubing type but is there any way to tell from the exterior of the tube whether it is DOM or HREW? I did talk to him last night as well and he said he stands by his work 100% and if I manage to bend or break them he’ll replace/repair for free.

Would buy BAMF sliders over and over again. This guy knows what he’s talking about and doing.

Hrew has a seam where it's been welded together. Dom is one continuous tube.

Should be easy enough to tell them. I’ll post back up later this afternoon when I go out to the truck.

It'll look like a little black line that runs straight down the entire length of the tube.

Well you got me curious enough to go out and look. Definitely no seam on the tubing so looks like DOM it is!

    This is not accurate.

DOM has a seam, though it is more difficult to see.
