Yes. My '19 OR has about 1500 miles on it. I lifted it about 2.5" with add-a-leaf in back (and Bilstein 5160 shocks) and Bilstein 6112 in front. The 20 mph vibration was immediately there after the lift. Didn't matter whether I was accelerating, rolling, or braking. Added the 3 degree shims today to align the pinion angle between the rear differential and driveshaft closer to stock. Vibration is gone, or at least 95% gone.

Where's the thread on this? I've lifted my truck and have the exact same vibes as you.

There are several threads that discuss vibration issues. Many discuss vibrations that are different than the 20mph vibration though. This thread was probably one of the more useful. Read back a few posts.

Seems that they’ve extended the T-SB, I was providing the *-18 T-SB before about getting turned down, this explains it.

Update post-arbitration with Toyota and NCDS.

Last week I met with the arbitration rep from the National Center for Dispute Settlement, the Toyota Field Technical Specialist who has worked on my last two trucks, my dealer service manager and shop foreman to discuss the buy-back case with my truck. I explained my history with my last vehicle (see my other posts for details) and described the issues with my current vehicle. I described my driving habits as non-abusive, don't tow etc. and I concluded saying that an unknown mechanical issue is causing the rear-drums to warp and cause the rear-end vibration. Then the Toyota FTS went through a description of the work they've done, checked the axle run out, etc. and concluded saying they don't know what it causing the rear drum warping, but that it must be driver habit/use. They also noted that there was slight blueing of the drums showing heat stress.

I received the arbitration decision today, stating that they side with Toyota and will not buy back my vehicle.

My suggestion to anyone who feels the vibration: Call Toyota Corporate and open a case with them. This takes 5 minutes to do. Here is their number: 800-331-4331. The more cases that are opened regarding this, the better chance we have at getting a real long term fix, not just replacing drums every 2-5k miles.

Oh by the way, Toyota corporate says that they will no longer cover brake issues under my warranty since they say the issues are caused by driver habits. I purchased an extended warranty when I bought the truck.

    El Blanco Taco,

Sorry to hear that you weren’t able to get a buy back approved, Toyota knows there’s an issue but they would just rather beat around the bush and lay the blame back on the consumer for any reason that sticks.

Question on your vibration, because I’m starting to think this is the same issue I have, also have a case open with corporate. Scheduled to meet with master technician and FTS later this month.

Whenever you put the truck in neutral and come to a stop does it vibrate less than it does in drive?

I’m thinking perhaps with there not being power from the transmission to the axles the brakes wouldn’t shake as badly? (it still shakes slightly though but barely noticeable)

I had a issue with deceleration around 25-15 mph after lifting my truck with 5100 and dakar mediul leaf pack. Vibs or shudder gone after installing 3 degree axle shims. Just to update you guys because a lot of people here including me was frustrated for a while in looking to how to solve this issue. Don't loose hope i fixed mine! I tried a bunch of remedies and did a lot of research but only that 3 degree axle shims fixed the issue.

The rear end in my hoopty shook and shuddered when braking, they replaced my axle shafts and rear drums.

edit: i know it may not be same issue, since this only happened when braking, but figured id post it anyways

edit x2: never mind, seems like my issue is batched in this thread as well... and for the record the shaking is starting to come back, getting awfully close to lemon eligibility in my state.

This is incredibly concerning. I'm truly sorry that their determination was that your drum warping is based on driver habits. That's fucking absurd.

I'm having the same exact issue as you so maybe it's more appropriate to discuss in a PM, but as you may have gathered from my last post, I am on my third set of drums (and second axle) and they warped again after only 1,500 miles of driving (or at least it feels that way since I can see my passenger seat shaking when I am braking...that's how bad the vibration is). I'm at a loss, and I had opened a case with Toyota this time around so at least I have that on record.

I have 2 years left on my lease and I'm not sure that I can put up with this nonsense until lease-end. I cannot keep losing time at the dealer, taking off of work, putting up with the headaches. I cannot keep going in, explaining my case over and over and over again, have them repair it, only for the issue to return. I cannot keep having a breath of fresh air for 1500 miles only for my truck to brake like shit again. It's getting harder and harder to not drive my truck into a brick wall and let it burn. The fact that they pushed you aside and said they won't be replacing your drums anymore is absolutely ridiculous.

I agree...total bullshit on Toyota. I never neither the time or patience to deal with their ignorance especially when they know there is a problem. It almost seems to be a game for them to see when you snap.

My brand new SR5 4X4 has this as well.

    Only one 1K miles.

When slowing down and hits 20-30mph starts vibrating like I'm hitting those safety strips on the road. Feels like a rumble.

Also today while driving very slow in a parking lot looking for parking, the transmission slammed down into first gear when coming to a stop.

Pretty scary from a brand new truck.

I noticed today when I was crusing at 25mph for a school zone my truck would vibrate, pedals, steering wheel, you name it. I'd put it in neutral and it was gone. Also at around 40-45mph, same thing. This truck just doesnt inspire confidence.
