concealed carry ankle holster????

i work in construction so i am always in jeans and work boots. does anyone have or use an ankle holster in that style of dress. looking for some info because the permit is coming soon and would like to have the option of wearing " near " work. thanks guys and girls.

 

If at all possible, use other means of concealment. Ankle holsters are uncomfortable, at best, and painfull, at worst.
Try an inside waistband holster, or outside waistband holster first. A quality belt is your best friend when carrying, especially for large autos like mine.
Don't cheap out. Quality holsters wear longer and more comfortably than cheapos. Leather or kydex is the way to go.

I've heard good things about the smart carry. It's definitely not the most aesthetically pleasing holster but many people thing very highly of it. Not sure how well it would work with your job but it's something to check out.

I wear carpenter's jeans (because they have large back pockets) and carry a Ruger LCP w/CT grip in a wallet holster. It works for me.

I only use my ankle holster as a last resort. I carry my Smith 442 snubby in a Fobus ankle holster. It is kydex with some padding and a pretty secure velcro strap. I find it feels the most comfortable over the top of my boot. I am right handed and carry on the inside left ankle. I carry on my waist in a leather holster the majority of the time, but when I cant, I will carry with my ankle holster.

 

Most jobsites I have worked would immediately terminate someone with a concealed weapon- no questions, no explanations. In fact, I'd terminate anyone carrying on the job, and I have the authority to do so. And I can't thinkl of any manual labor where you would not expose, at some point, your concealed weapon. How about leaving it in your vehicle, rather than risking a police report and unemployment?

 

But if he has a license to carry he can do so where ever he pleases other than listed areas... It's his right as an American citizen. So why should he be terminated? Love trdman. Your Ted nugent of TW!

 

"Listed" areas include those areas where the owner has banned weapons. In most cases, if the owner has no ruling against weapons onsite, the contractor performing the construction almost certainly does, as stated in hiring briefings and/or jobsite rules.
Don't get me wrong- I'm an advocate of concealed carry at all times when it's not prohibited. But I know firsthand that construction sites are not an intelligent place for guns.

I use a Galco inside the pants holster.

 

I would say your best bet is a LCP with a wallet holster its what i carry to work every day and i'm a yota tech. However you should be careful I know that in NC you can be fired for cc if your employer has a writen policy banning weapons and thet catch you with you sidearm, but they cant do anything if its in your car even if you park on company property/job site because its still you car no matter where you park it.

thank you all for the great input. i guess the reality is i must keep it in the truck and hope nothing ever happens on the jobsite directly. my wheels started turning faster after the manchester ct work place shooting a few days ago.
