Yeah I need to get the 'offroad base' thingy for it. Although I've never had any problems with mine even when we relied solely on it to change out my CV axle in the snow (sketchy as hell but it worked, even when getting the axle nut off which shook the truck quite a bit). Using the Hi-Lift is a last resort for me. The first time I ever used one it dropped my buddies truck as we were lifting it and scared the fuck out of me, but he admitted to never oiling/lubing his Hi-Lift. So yeah I always have that memory in my head when I use mine lol. But I always spray mine down good before I use it.

I see what you mean though with it being slick on concrete and shooting out, that would be terrifying. I always try and make sure it's 100% straight and not slanted at all before lifting with it.

Once I used my high lift on my hitch, but my truck swayed and the jack tipped, scared the shit out of me.

I've used it on the hitch before when working on the leaf springs, needed to lift the springs up themselves and keep the axle in place. Worked well but I didn't have to go very high. Gotta make sure it's not tilted at all. And of course chock the front tires, if that thing rolls forward you're in trouble.

Yeah that last part especially, the issue is the truck can move enough to put it in that loaded position where it wants to launch. I'm gonna have to find a place to stash my hi lift on the cruiser though cause I don't wanna carry a floor jack

Before I got my bed rack I had it clamped on the roof rack but it looked ridiculous up there. I see a lot of Cruisers that have it mounted to their rear bumpers I think. My bed rack came with a nifty spot to bolt the hi-lift on.

Or put it on the hood under the windshield like the Jeep guys do haha

Looks good to me. Some say that Gates makes a better belt but the Toyota one is fine too. I used a Gates one when I replaced mine.

The Toyota one is Dayco and the Gates one is just cheaper usually but both are great quality

    3rz SC uses same belt

I know about that specific DeLoream actually. Insurance fraud. The owner only had it for a few weeks, his BMW I8 disappeared mysteriously right before he bought that car.

I use a belt conditioner on mine every oil change or so just for good measure but it seems to be holding up well

I've never used a belt conditioner before, never seemed to have issues with belts expiring early.

Weird car to bother with fraud on, they sell to the next schmuck pretty fast usually.

My original one (Dayco) was fraying when I got the truck at 24k miles but that was likely just due to age I assume, and dry heat. Figure it can't hurt although it does make them squeal for the first few miles afterward

That's one of the only fluid changes I've done where I immediately noticed a big difference. My power steering got buttery smooth with new ATF in there.

Same here and it got rid of the annoying whine the steering was making even on light turns
