Nobody really cares how long your boat is, we need to know how heavy it is. Tongue weight, total weight, etc.

    "tossing my boat"

Is this a euphemism like "getting your salad tossed"

    Probably.

Most of these trucks are rated for about 6400-6500 lbs towing. But the real limit is payload. Every truck is different. You need to find out how much the boat and trailer weigh. Then figure out what your payload and tow capacity is. There is a payload sticker on the drivers door jamb. Tow rating is in the owners manual.

My truck is rated to tow 6500 lbs, but has a payload of 1200 lbs. I have a cap on my truck that weighs 180 lbs, so I'm down to 1020. A boat will have about 10% of its weight on the tongue. Assuming a 4000 lb boat and trailer that is 400 lbs on my tongue. That leaves me about 600 lbs in the truck for me, passengers and other cargo.

But that is my truck. Your's is going to be different and you're the one who needs to figure out what you have and do the math.

One other thing. The hitch is only rated for 500 lbs weight. If you have over 500 lbs tongue weight you need to buy a weight distribution hitch.
