    I have perfected my camp bed, I always have the best nights sleep in the bed of the truck.

    Try different stuff. I have a softopper, a 6 foot bed, a 4 inch foam pad, a thermarest, an older Coleman canvas sleeping bag and a moving blanket on top. Been down to 0° and I sleep great. As long as the truck is fairly level.

    My buddy uses a 4 season tent a foam pad and a roomie 0°bag.


    It also depends on what part of the country you are in.

    I sleep in the back of my truck with a cap on it. It’s not bad when by myself, gets a little tight with the wife. A camper is way more comfortable, period. Peeing for me is not a big deal at 2am, wife not so much. The nice thing about a truck/cap setup is lower cost. When you move up to a camper, like most you will, you have a rig to pull it. Check out the pop up caps like Go Fast Campers and the Vagabond Drifters, kinda the best of both worlds.
